10 Ways To Express Gratitude This Holiday Season

Challenge yourself this holiday season to do more than just say “thank you.” It’s important to show gratitude when you can, especially to your friends and loved ones. Let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life. POPSUGAR put together a list of simple ways to practice gratitude every day.

1. Write heartfelt notes.

Some might call it old-fashion, but there’s something about the thought that goes in to a handwritten card. Whether it’s for a special occasion like a birthday or graduation, or you do it just because, it’s important to remind your loved ones that you care about them and that you’re there for them - especially when they least expect it. This is a simple and inexpensive gesture that goes a long way.

2. Surprise someone with a treat.

Surprise your coworkers with coffee or donuts before work. It’s a simple way to show some appreciation. Plus, if you do it when they least expect it, all the better!

3. Spend quality time with loved ones.

Time is precious, and as the holidays approach, this is another reminder of how important it is to spend time with your loved ones while you still can. They won’t be around forever. The older you get, the more you realize that you cannot take your family for granted. Make it a priority to see them this holiday season and create new memories that’ll last a lifetime.

4. Send small gifts.

Typically around this time of year, we think about those who may be less fortunate than us. Whether it’s donating money, food, toys, or time, we can all make a difference in someone’s life. Think of something you can do this year to help those in need.

At the end of the day, don't forget that you matter too! It's important to take care of yourself this holiday season and do something for you.
