The Rainbow Nail Trend Will Be Huge This Summer

Posted on May 20 2019

With spring and summer being all about bright colors, it's no surprise that rainbow nails are expected to take off. Why choose one color when you can wear them all? If you want a look that feels effortless, this is the trend for you! Whether you go loud and bold with pops of neon, or more subdued with pastels, you can never really go wrong. If all fails, just choose five colors you like and create your own look.

We wrote a post about the gradient nail trend, which is great if you're going for a monochromatic look. Not sure where to start? Choose  a color family that complements your skin tone, then look for varying shades.

Muted Nudes

If you tend to like softer colors or pastels, this is a great option for you! This variation allows you to still play with color to create a more subdued look. Start with the lightest shade on your pinky and work towards your thumb using darker shades.

Bright & Bold

With summer just around the corner, people are starting to opt for vibrant, neon hues for that perfect pop of color. It's all about placement and a mixture of the right solids. Instead of opting for 5 colors (one color for each nail), try 2 or 3 alternating shades to change up the look.

Spring Pastels

The pastel manicure trend was huge for spring and it's definitely going to trend this summer too! Now that the brighter and warmer weather is here, people are opting for colors that reflect the outdoor environment.

A little hint of sparkle never hurt. Add a little pizzazz to your manicure by opting for some shimmery shades. A combination of pastel pink, purple, and a champagne shimmer create a sophisticated look that can work for special events like weddings and graduations.
