Wow!! Got this on sale and must say it is stunning!!! The deepest darkest blue, black purple. Reminds me of OPI Russian Navy. This could be a one coater but need 2 coats for perfection. Super shiny and super stunning. Could be a favorite for the fall/winter months. Dries fast and looks absolutely beautiful! I have over 300 colors and this is a favorite. Normally use OPI and Essie... only a few China Glaze but may have to buy a back up for this is STUNNING!!! In love!!!! In the dark it may just look black but you can tell it is a deepens navy. Get it in the light and it is Like... WOW!!! Loving it!!!!!
This is a gorgeous deep blue (I'd call it midnight blue, but others may differ on the descriptive adjectives) with very subtle, almost hidden shimmer. This is not what I'd call a "shimmer" polish, because the shimmer really only serves to give the base deep blue a bit of a lift, which prevents it from slipping into "might as well be black" in all but the most subdued of lighting situations. This could be a one-coater if you're good with a brush or if you just want to use it as a base for special effects top coats or glitters. I almost got it in one coat, and wanted to try it that way so that it wouldn't stray into "might as well be black" territory, but, to my pleasant surprise, the second coat only smoothed it all out and gave more depth, without turning it into off-black. Formula and application are good, nice and smooth. Self levels very well. I do not recommend wearing this polish with no base coat, or with a base coat that won't adequately protect your nails. If in doubt, use two layers of base coat and let it dry thoroughly. I didn't experience any staining with this (I used a layer of OPI Ridge Filler and then a layer of Poshe Quick Drying Base Coat over that), but I would not want to risk it, and deep blues are notorious for it. I love blue polishes, especially dark ones, and this is one of the prettiest I've worn.
This looked like a blue jelly in the bottle, which to be honest is the reason I picked it up. Turns out it's actually an understated shimmer: for starters, the shimmer is extremely fine. For another, it's dark enough and sparse enough not to be overpowering, or to make the polish screamingly metallic. I love this color. It's the only dark blue I've found yet on the market that isn't warm or turquoise-toned. OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue falls squarely into the warm category, so do Essie Midnight Cami and Sally Hansen Night Flight. Up All Night is the single shining exception. It isn't purple-toned either though, just a TRUE dark blue with dark blue shimmer -as opposed to bright turquoise shimmer in dark bases like the above-mentioned other three. As unique as it is gorgeous!
This is such a gorgeous dark blue, almost black, nail polish! It's such a gorgeous rich colour and it's perfect for fall or winter! One coat is not enough to get complete opacity, so you will definitely need two coats for this. I find that with any China Glaze nail polish, the polish seems to chip away very quickly, and unfortunately this nail polish is no exception. This will usually chip away after about 2 days, which is really my only main gripe about it. I love adding a layer of CND's Sapphire Sparkle #561 on top of the nail polish after. It adds beautiful, iridescent look to the polish with its light blue sparkles. It really transforms the look of your nails.
Up all Night is one of the best blues in my stash. What I love about this shade is that it's a deep rich saturated blue. Deep enough when you're longing for a vamp that isn't the traditional "black" or super dark red/burgundy/plum ... and after 2 coats, doesn't go black, falling just shy of black while still remaining just a super dark rich inky blue. Looks fabulous topped with a silvery micro glitter top coat, or left as is, topped with a few crystal rhinestones. Every ChG I've tried applies beautifully without being thick or streaky, and Up all Night is no exception. Application on this is just as perfect as all my other China Glaze polishes. A major hit in my polish arsenal!
