I am med dark with yellow undertones.

I am med dark with yellow undertones. I was trying to determine between this polish and OPI's Pamplona Purple which is very similar to this one. PP is slightly darker than this IMO; I opted for this one because it was brighter and I thought better for Summer. It popped more against my skin tone. I wear brighter colors on my toes and this works well. I sometimes find that Essie polishes are too sheersome shades I have purchased have required 3 coat to get good coverage. But this one goes on smoothy and provides good coverage in two coats.

For a while I couldn't justify buying this polish as I thought it was too similar to two other Essie pinks I already have: Bachelorette Bash and Big Spender. While Bachelorette Bash it a much brighter medium pink, and Big Spender is a darker, richer pink. Flowerista is closer to Big Spender (both have a similar level of “darkness/richness making Bachelorette Bash look much brighter), but Flowerista has a hefty dose of violet to make it more of a magenta shade. Once it was on my nails I immediately thought it looked like a plummy shade, but when I put it side-by-side with my favorite plum (OPI Skating on Thin Ice-Land) Flowerista was clearly lighter and more pink and OPI clearly darker and more plum/purple. I only wear this color on short nails because it can look “old lady on long nails. The formula was a little thick for an Essie cream, but two coats made the color completely opaque and uniform (no sheer spots). Being an Essie cream, it has wonderful application and staying power. After three days there are no chips and only a little wear on the tips. I would buy this again.

Love this.

Love this. I got the mini bottle in the 4 piece collection and I will be buying the full size. It's not as bright on the nails as it looks in the bottle, but I think it's just a perfect shade to transition from winter (because it is deep, close to berryish) to spring. Looks good on my pale skin but I think it would probably be even more beautiful on a darker skin tone. In terms of formula, it's better (less runny, more opaque) than most Essie, but not their very best. I have a million purple, fuchsia, magenta, berry, etc. shades in my collection but this is just different enough to stand apart.

I like it, but after applying 2 two coats, it's several shades darker than it looks in the bottle. More of a deep plum. Too dark for spring and summer, but pretty for fall and winter IMO.

I agree with the previous reviewer, there's really nothing special about this one.

I agree with the previous reviewer, there's really nothing special about this one. From Essie's Spring 2015 Collection, Flowerista is a slightly dusty, berry-ish, purple creme. On the nail, it's very boring and average-looking. Disappointing because out of the whole collection, this was the polish I was most interested in. I was hoping it would be my favorite (but that ended up being Garden Variety).Great formula though. It was opaque in two coats and no problems with application or wear. But I didn't care for the shade itself and I wouldn't buy this one again.
