Hotter Than You Pink is a pretty shade of hot pink with a bright blue flash. The flash is prominent in all lighting, but especially in bright sunlight or flourescent light. It looks especially nice with a tan, it's definitely a fun, bright summer shade. It has a good formula, easy to apply with no streaks or patches but it is quite sheer. I used two coats and the nail line was still visible. If visible nail line bugs you, I'd recommend either upping to 3-4 coats or using a white or beige colour coat under the polish. Otherwise, it does still look passable at two coats the blue flash is great at covering the nail line in bright lights. It dries quickly and to a shiny finish, and wears well, lasting around 5 days on the nails and even longer as a pedi consistent with the wear time of my other OPIs. I can happily recommend this shade.
Hotter Than You Pink is from OPI's 2014 neon collection. I consider this a Barbie Pink, very feminine, bright and fun. It has a slight blue/light purple sheen which is evident in various lighting.Even though this polish is a couple of years old, the texture was nice and smooth and the consistency perfect, not too thick or too thin. It applied smoothly without streak or bubbling. One coat was slightly sheer but with the 2nd coat I got full opacity.Prior to adding my SH Insta-Dri tc I noticed that it dried slightly matte. As for the dry time I can't address that as the SH Insta-Dri is a QDTC.This comes packaged in the standard OPI polish bottle with a Pro-Wide brush. The brush makes for nice application of this polish.Right now OPI is running about $10 per bottle, but you can find it online for slightly less. Not sure how much I paid for this as I purchased it a couple of years ago. I suspect it was between $8.00 and $9.00.In general I consider OPI a high quality polish with loads of color choices and lots of different formulas and finishes. Of course, when discussing OPI you also can't forget about the cute names they give their colors.I like Hotter Than You PInk well enough to repurchase should I ever use the whole bottle. On a side note, I did Franken a portion of HTYP with Revlon Holographic Pearls and it make a fun hot pink polish w/lots of holographic glitter.I will update in several days regarding length of wear.UPDATE: I am on my 6th day of wear w/no chips. The polish looks good with only a slight bit of tip wear. Granted, I haven't done a lot of dishes but I have done some and this stuff is hanging in there very well. Perhaps it is because I mixed it /w Revlon Holographic Pearls, but I am very impressed w/the wear. I am changing today because I am ready for a color change.
Neon pink with a lightly shimmery blue/purple sheen. It dries fast and looks pretty against my golden toned skin. It's nice for a pop of bright feminine color.
This is nearly identical to a color that I loved years ago (Strawberry Fields) and I was thrilled to find it again. I'd been looking long and hard for a dupe, and hoped that OPI would release it. When I found Hotter than You Pink, I was giddy. Unfortunately, this didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped it would be.It's a lovely hot pink color (borderline neon) with a blue-ish shimmery sheen. It didn't dry to a matte finish on me (as someone else noted), but it's not shiny either; I'd say it has more of a satin finish. It is on the sheer side, so you'll need 3+ coats to really get the color that's in the bottle. Here's where this really let me down: it chipped like crazy. Usually OPI colors last about 3 weeks on my toes before they start to chip. This lasted about 2 weeks. I touched up my polish to try to extend my pedi by a few days and this chipped off again after (no lie) less than a day. Similar story on my fingernails--I applied it on Friday night and by Sunday morning, I was ready to take it off. Big letdown.OPI nailed the color, but for some reason, this particular formula didn't work for me. It's too bad, because this is such a perfect Summer color.
