I just reviewed the Ulta Red Color Enhance Glaze (New Formula) and having used the Ulta glaze, I soooo much prefer it to the Sebastian brand. Many reviewers have said the Ulta glaze is really runny and difficult to work with but I found the Sebastian brand to be AWFUL for my hair left it rough and feeling like straw and it stained super easily.Everyone's hair is different. So that may be a big factor in the results I'm getting, but the Ulta glaze is super easy to work (and I think the New Formula might be a bit thicker than the older version) with after I shower/shampoo/condition then towel-dry my hair and head to the kitchen sink to apply Ulta glaze with cheapo latex gloves, put a hairband in hair on top of head, cover with Sally's shower cap and leave for 20 min then rinse out. It leaves a beautiful finish to my hair! Super soft, with a lustre/shine that is gorgeous, especially in the sun!With the Sebastian brand I saw zero positive results. Nothing. Straw. And it wasn't fun to work with added nothing to my hair color or texture. Ish.

LUV Sebastian Cellophanes....but....I now have a problem. My color of choice is/was mahogany. Months ago, I was told that "mahogany" was replaced with "deep brunette". Now I am being told that "expresso brown" replaces "mahogany".What gives ??Please advise.If/when colors change description, it would be nice to be given public notice. This excellent product is already difficult to find...why complicate things more ??

This is the perfect color refresher for red heads. I massage itherapy into damy hair and leave for an hour then rinse and it was like I just had my hair colored.

I fell in love with the previous formula called "Get a Grip". This was a completely unique product that genuinely lifted hair, unlike everything and I mean *everything* that I have tried before or since. That would be about 15 other products.Only a very small amount of Get a Grip was needed to lift fine hair, and it imparted great shine.This new version, just called "Grip", falls into the 'same old, same old' basket. It's been reformulated to match a thousand other products in the market, relying only on brand and positioning for sales instead of brilliant formulation. It doesn't really lift or hold, just like none of the others do. Disappointing.

I was a big fan of the original Sebastian products but somehow never got around to doing a Cellophane. I know a lot of people love it because this stuff has been around since the 1980s and remains popular so there must be something to it.On me, I was underwhelmed. It did cool the tone in my light blond hair and add a bit of shine, but both results are so subtle I'm not sure it's worth the effort. In fairness, my hair is super smooth so I'm sure it's harder for color deposit-only products to work as well on my hair as on more coarse/porous hair. Shimmer Lights shampoo doesn't do much for me either.I can't say for sure that I won't repurchase Cellophanes. It's a pretty big tube so I'm sure I'll get at least a dozen more processes out of it. Possibly layering multiple Cellophanes will make a greater difference...
