I have a pixie cut that's rather long on top (maybe 4-5 inches) that I like to style swept back with a barrel brush. For reference, my hair is thick but the strands themselves are pretty fine. It looks great for the first half of the day, but it tends to deflate. You won't catch me using hairspray and I had kind of forgotten about mousse for a few years, so I just accepted it as something that happened until my hairdresser made a passing comment that my hair seemed to like the mousse she'd worked into it as she dried. I ordered Wella mainly because I remembered my old hairdresser stocked the line. I used about a ping-pong ball's worth while my hair was damp but leaning towards drier, blow dried it as normal, and kind of went, "Oh so THAT'S why mousse exists." The volume I had still felt very soft to the touch but retained its shape much better both freshly-dried and through the day. My hair gets squished under big headphones for eight hours on top of me habitually running my hand through it, and the mousse seemed to stand up to it all very well-it still looked great by the time I left. It had lost some of its staying power, but it was doing a whole lot better than without. There's no trace of cruchiness or really any sign that you're actually wearing it, which is a big plus for me; I already wear a paste so I don't need any extra product trace. I'm not sure how this works with other hair types, but if yours sounds similar I definitely recommend giving this a try.

This product was average.

This product was average. It gave volume but I found it too heavy. You can feel this product in your hair, it almost feels the same as when you've overused your hairspray. It also left my hair sticky at the roots and dry on the ends. My hair is fine but there is lots of it, it is also very long. Maybe this would work better on shorter styles. The only plus point is at least it comes in a travel size so you can test it before splurging on a large bottle. My search for a replacement to Matrix Design Pulse Go Big continues!

This Conditioner and Shampoo duo have been life savers!I have extremely fine hair, and was looking everywhere for a shampoo that gives me volume. After trying dozens of different high end shampoo's & Conditioners, I must say, Wella SP is hands down the BEST. It actually works! I use the shampoo, and exit the shower with my hair looking like a birds nest. I then take the conditioner, but a small apple-size amount on my hands and run it through my hair I do not even attempt to comb my hair before using the conditioner. The conditioner leaves my hair fairly tangle free, and once brushed and dryed, my hair is evidently thicker. It is a tad pricey, but well worth it after seeing the end result. Great stuff!

While this is expensive, I love it.

While this is expensive, I love it. I have fine, stick straight hair that is usually limp. I use this as a leave-in conditioner and it helps with tangles and even adds body to my hair if I let my hair air dry. It isn't sticky and never makes my hair look greasy, even if I use it and blowdry the night before. Highly recommend.

It says on the bottle this is a conditioner, but for my processed blonde.

It says on the bottle this is a conditioner, but for my processed blonde.. no way. Instead I use this as leave-in conditioner/styling foam and it works like magic. I've tried it with the corresponding shampoo, and i guess the combo could work for unprocessed hair but my mane calls for a bit of extra care and reconstruction.I much prefer this to any root-booster i've tried and i bet i've tried them all (KMS, Tigi, redken, matrix...). This leaves nice grip but no stickiness, nice bounce and volume but no fluff. Best of all, it's kind of matte finish, so it looks just as good the next day no oil-slick at the roots. For reference, i have babyfine, superstraight and slippery, processed blonde hair, with oily roots and dry ends.A thing to watch: have to be careful with the dose, a plum sized dollop for my longish bob, any more and it feels odd. Looks just as fine but feels odd, sort of waxy, to touch. My only gripe: I'm not too happy with the foam-application, a spritz would be much easier to distribute and much more environmentally friendly as well.
