The Slim Lip Pencil buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.
This particular brand and color is the goal of all my searching for the perfect lip liner. Not only does the color exactly match my lips, the consistency is firm and yet glides on and doesn't break or crumble. I can draw a perfect cupid's bow and then put on a little brownish-pink, non-smear lipstick and my lips look totally natural --you cannot see any penciled line at all --just a perfect shape and a bit deeper color. I also use the trick of putting a tiny pat of matte face powder right at the cupid's bow --nowhere else. That holds the shape, and it's easy to refresh the kipstick without having to re-line. I line my lips once int hemorning and they're good to go all day (unless kissed off, of course!)
NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Coffee (JPL717) is a creamy glossy taupey brown (with some rose undertones…maybe??? Âit is a very unique color) and is my favorite brown-based lip pencil in my MU collection. The NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils are extremely creamy, hence they glide onto your lips; the pigmentation is quite good & they are long lasting to say the least; they have a pretty good color selection; and are quite economical. One of the best qualities of these pencils is that they are neither too glossy, shiny nor frosty (depending on the pencil's finish), thus, giving these pencils enough “character†to keep these pencils from being flat matte colors on the lips. The only con I can confirm is that the online swatches of these lip pencils pretty much suck, so I would suggest you do your research and read various reviews of color descriptions prior to purchasing Âwhich is what I always I do.The NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Coffee is 1 of the 3 NYX Jumbo Pencils that I purchased in a lot sale from eBay for less than $9.50 (including S&H) which indeed confirms that these pencils are one of the best hidden gems on the market today and IMO is a must-have item for every makeup lover's collection.
Another mistake I made ordering site unseen. Aside from Soft Fuschia, IMO, most of the NYX jumbo lip pencils are way too brown and all look like a throwback to the 1990's. What's wrong with the colors of these pencils? NYX needs to look into this ~ they all make you look like you swallowed poop. Sorry to say, but I will never buy this color again...Yuck!
I picked up one of these this weekend, and so far I am in love with it! Despite the name (which to me would indicate a dark brown or tan), this is a perfect YLBB color for neutral or pink lipsticks and gloss. I am fairly pale, so most lip liners are too dark on me, but light colored ones wash me out. This is perfect! The packaging is very nice as well (looks much more high end than its $4 price), and it has a precise point but doesn't pull or tug on my lips. This could be my HG lipliner!
The previous reviewer did a great job at describing the color I have natural also, and I do use this one when I want a color darker than it, for my darker/more pigmented warmer lippies. The formula is fantasticsmooth, highly pigmented, lasts a very long time on, the pencil is easy to sharpen and doesn't crack or splinter, and the pencil itself keeps a point well and isn't too soft so that it breaks when you use it, but not so hard that it's hard to use. I love NYX lipliners!
