Ridge filling base coat: Give nails with ridges or discoloration a smooth, even base for color application. Leaves nails looking more youthful and smoother, as if resurfaced.
I love this product and plan to use it as a base coat. It covered my nail ridges very nicely and makes my nail polish look so much nicer :)
Do not buy the Australian version of Essie in any product, they are all absolutely terrible. The packaging is different and the products are very poor quality and hugely over priced. The USA version is excellent, I have deep ridges and this product covers them perfectly.
Favorite basecoat of all, love this so much! This ridge filler does everything I want a ridge filler to do. It makes my manicures look plump, healthy and smooth. I own the OPI ridge filler (don't like, read my review for more details) and Nailtec Foundation II (2nd favorite). This gives off the most beautiful milky pale pink/peach on the nails. I love using 2 or 3 coats (3 needed for true opacity) of this on it's own or with other polishes with SV topcoat. They make my nails fresh and professional. It also works great just using 1 layer under any other nail polish. I just like the finish and plumpness of 3 coats. It might sound like a pain, but its actually really easy to apply, dries pretty fast and results are so smooth, long lasting and beautiful. My manis ALWAYS last minimum 2 weeks without chipping, with any cheap or expensive nail polish I use.Use a sheer polish to finish off the 3 layers to a get a gorgeous finish. I love topping using my OPI Sweetheart and Mimosas for Mr and Mrs. My nails doesn't break as easily either using this multi-layering method. Best tip I can give is: don't be cheap on the application or it will get streaky. Use a generous drop to make sure you get an even surface. Also, don't forget to clean the bottle neck once in a while to prevent chunks in the filler.I'm pretty sure this treatment made my nails more white and strong. I was so surprised when I removed my nail polish after 1 week+. They looked really healthy and fresh underneath. I tried to look up the nutra keratin ingredient to see what is actually does for your nails, but couldn't find much. The bamboo extract though is supposed to be really good for you nails to help them grow healthy and strong.Saying I removed my mani after a week also proves that this filler holds up underneath it all. Got no dents/cracks or chips after 1 week+, that's all I ask for doing a home manicure. This is an amazing ridgefiller. 13.5 ml for 9.49$ its def worth the money. Going for manicures where I live (tropical island Koh tao, Thailand) doesn't make sense when they don't even last as long as when I do them myself. I have to give this basecoat top score. Making my favorite Nailtec foundation drop down 1 step and make this my no 1 winner!Nailtec gives a more white finish but not as smooth. It also gets goopy in the end, I will update here regarding goopyness of Essie in the end of the bottle. This is a must in everyones nail polish collection! What are you waiting for, go get some!!LOVE LOVE LOVEUpdate: From 4 lippies --> 4. Reason why is cause it started too goop on me after 2/3 of use. I have been using my milani ridge filler instead. I am yet to fins a ridgefiller that doesn't turn goopy on me in the end of the bottle, I think it's a mission impossible to be honest. For now I am happy with both the Nailtec and Essie.
I didn't realize I needed this product until I saw a YouTuber explaining who it was (mainly) for: women of a certain age whose nails develop vertical lines, which are actually ridges. I'm not a big fan of Essie in general, but this particular treatment is very good. It fills the ridges (as long as I don't use too thin a coat) and works well as a base coat at the same time, which is exactly what it claims to do.
