Nioxin - Definition Creme 5.1 oz

I love this product. Seriously love it. Diamax is a fairly new product from Nioxin that is supposed to "deliver visibly thicker-looking hair after one use... Protect hair against breakage... and thicken existing hair against breakage". It does all of that and does it well. It's expensive at about $40-$50 CDN for 100 ml but for me, it's worth it. My hair has been noticeably thinning around my hairline due to stress and menopause and getting any fullness from my hair has been difficult. I also have to wet and style my hair every day now due to it being so thin and flat. With Diamax, I don't have to do that anymore. I can wake up in the morning and tousle my hair and it looks fine. Ive used it on dry hair and when my hair is damp and both ways work well. I apply it to my roots only and not the ends. Diamax also contains caffeine and Niacinamide which I have read helps to promote hair growth. I've been using this a few weeks so can't comment on hair growth benefits though I believe that a healthy diet and good omega 3's probably helps more that a topical treatment other than rogaine, I will definitely be buying this again because it makes my hair look so much fuller and healthier.

I was sent this as part of a reviewing process. All I can say is: I AM CONVERTED. Seriously this product really really makes a huge difference to my hair. I am (was!) a back combing big blow out addict but this product has removed all need of these damaging method to make my hair look big, bouncy and full of life. I love that fact that unlike styling products used to boost your volume/roots this leaves absolutely no residue or sticky feeling to the hair, it is colourless and weightless. Absolute magic!I was sceptical about this product making a damned bit of difference but it is absolutely worth splurging on

This is sort of a goofy product. It's very thick (more like a balm than a gel like one of the other reviewers noted), which made me believe it would be heavy on my naturally curly hair. But it was actually extremely lightweight, and I had a lot of volume when my hair dried (which is nice). But since it was not as heavy as the products I usually use, I did have some frizz as my hair dried. Also I prefer products to weigh my hair down a bit so my curls loosen up a bit. That wasn't the case with this, but then again, I don't think this is intended to be used for air drying. That said, it's great for heat styling. I've used it before blowdrying and flat ironing. It works really well and I also had lots of volume. I was able to go several days without washing and I still had some volume, which is pretty amazing for my thin and fine hair. The smell is nice, and packaging is nice for travel. This wasn't too expensive for a salon product ($11). I am curious as to how this product will hold up in the summer when humidity is high. I'd probably re-purchase this, though I wouldn't call it HG material (yet). Update: I changed my overall rating to a 5 after using this product to heat style in hot temps and high humidity. Very impressed with how well it worked. This one is a keeper.

I received a good size sample of this and didn't use it at first. I haven't used gel in a long time since I wear my hair straight now. But one day I thought that I might as well try it. Kicking myself for waiting so long! This stuff is amazing. It is very lightweight and not sticky at all. I agree with the other reviewer that this is not a typical gel type of product. My hair is soft, straight, no frizz or flyaways and it adds a load of shine! I have been using for almost 2 weeks and I have had no build up either! This is my favorite gel. Don't let the word “gel” deceive you, it's more of a balm with a light, smooth texture. It is alcohol free do it isn't cold to the touch and it dries soft, not crunchy or sticky. I use this on my long, thick, coarse, naturally curl hair and it hold the curls all day long. Unfortunately, a little does not go a long way, so I go through the pump very quickly. I also do not notice much “shine” that the label promises, but my hair is very dark and Âwith its coarse texture Âhas never been particularly shiny. The packaging for this is a cylindrical pump with a cap, so it is easy to travel with, and I get every last bit out. It is the best thing for my curls that I have found; I keep coming back to it.
