One Chic Chick is a soft buttercup creamy eggy yellow that was released in the Soft Shades collection for 2016. This is a really pretty soft downy chick yellow and it's got a hint of gray in it. I really love this creamy pastel on my fair skin. Yellow is not usually a flattering color on me and I can't really say whether this one is or not, it isn't an obvious mismatch, but I do enjoy looking at it and that is what makes me happy. What doesn't make me happy is the fact it was a streaky application that took 4 thin coats to get the end look. This is a thin formula and while I didn't have any trouble with it running or flooding my cuticles, I did wipe the brush well to prevent that. I do love the look. But the 4 coats is ridiculous for a polish that is almost ten dollars a bottle. I'd love to recommend this for the color, but I just can't for that price. I'm happy with the end result, but I would not buy this again if I had known it would take 4 coats and truthfully it could have used 5 as there was still some visible nail line at the free edge. Not that anyone but me could see it, but I am a perfectionist and this was not a perfect paint job. Too bad as it's such a nice shade.

I found this polish half-price at a local beauty supply shop and so I decided to try it out.

I found this polish half-price at a local beauty supply shop and so I decided to try it out. It is very different than my usual pinks, reds, and strong jewel-toned colors. However, I really enjoy it! My husband ever-so-lovingly described it as a 'rust color,' but I rather enjoy the sparkles and the brown color. I am very fair-skinned and blonde and this is the perfect dark color for me--not too dark as to appear gothic (I am work in a classroom, so that would be a no-go for me) but definitely noticable. I would call it a subtle stunner, perhaps? It goes on fairly opaque--two to three coats for true opaqueness. I like it!

I am a bit disappointed with Shim-Merry Chic.

I am a bit disappointed with Shim-Merry Chic. The base color is very pretty. It's kind of copper, brownish, coffee color. However, the glitters on top killed it. It looks tacky and looks cheap on nice looking nails. It just doesn't do anything for me at all. If there's no glitter, I think this color will be a winner as the base color is gorgeous. I will probably wear it once a year, particular over Christmas time.
