Description

OPI Gelcolor soak off gel polish (released on October of 2011) applies just like traditional nail polish, but gives your like a super shiny finish that lasts up to two weeks. You can just simply apply the gel like regular nail polish and cure it under a UV or LED lamp for the specified period of time.

Why choose OPI Gelcolor?

OPI Gelcolor is produced by the largest manufactur of nail products in the world. OPI's Gelcolor will last for 2 weeks and is made specifically to fight the normal wear and tear from daily activities. Their formula does not damage the natural nails and will help keep your nails strong and healthy.

How long does it take for OPI Gelcolor to cure?

The curing times for Gelcolor gel polish is highly dependent on the type of lamp that you are using. For LED Lamps, Gelcolor will take 20-30 seconds to cure. However, with a UV Lamp, it will take 2 - 3 minutes to cure. Check out the latest LED lamp for faster curing!

How do I use OPI Gelcolor polish?

The Gelcolor application process is very similar to the other soak off gel polishes... This is how you do it:

Preparation

Step 1. Prepare the nail by using an orangewood stick to push the cuticles back for a clean application of gel

Step 2. Shape your nails to your style with a natural nail filer (150 grit or higher)

Step 3. Prepare the natural nail by gently removing the shine using a buffer... lightly buff it to rough up the nail beds

Step 4. Remove the oils and dust on your nail by using nail cleanser

OPI Gelcolor Application

Step 5. (Roll the gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Base Coat onto your nail.

Step 6. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 10 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 1 minute. The top coat will remain tacky/sticky, but this is normal of any soak off gel polish.

Step 7. (Roll the Gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Color coat to your nail. Don't forget to cap the nail edges to create a seal. Make sure you remove any Gelcolor from the skin prior to curing.

Step 8. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 9. Apply a second coat of Gelcolor color to the nail.

Step 10. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 11. Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Top Coat onto your nail. The top coat creates a high shine while protecting the gel layers below it from damage. Don't froget to cap the nail edges to create a seal.

Step 12. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 13. Use a liberal amount of alcohol (99%) or gel cleanser with a lint free pad to remove the tacky/sticky residue from your nail.

A medium purple with lots of shimmery ultra-micro glitter in purple, blue, and magenta.

A medium purple with lots of shimmery ultra-micro glitter in purple, blue, and magenta. I'd say the basic colour is a slightly plummy grape with lots of depth and complexity.Really not crazy about the formula on this. I'm fairly skilled with applying nail polish, but this was quite hard to manage, as the strokes tended to drag or push the polish that was already put down. Very tricky to get it right, and I ended up completely re-doing one nail as a result. The nice, wide OPI brush didn't help; it might have made it worse (surprisingly; usually I find the OPI brush quite easy to handle). This is a bit on the sheer side; you might need three coats to get full opacity. The end result, though, is really quite something. The shimmery colours are quite beautiful, and in the right light, even dazzling. Very, very pretty nail polish.

I would buy this again because.

I would buy this again because...It's the perfect dark vampy purple for my dark skin.It doesn't look black against my skin tone like most dark vampy colors do. It's like a foil shimmery purple with hints of pink and fuchsia (sp) colored sparkles. This is my interpertation of the perfect purple vampy color for dark/black skin women.

This polish is absolutely beautiful! Its a nice deep grape purple with blue, purple, and a little pink shimmer in it. It is a little bit runny, but not to bad. I applied 3 coats because I felt two wasn't enough. But even 3 coats feel light on my nails. I got this with the other polish that comes with it in the dual package for 13.50. I would definitely consider buying this polish again.

LOVE this clor.

LOVE this clor. I just took it off my nails. I had it on for just over 7 days with minimal chipping.I love the glitteryness of this polish. up close you see the different color shimmer particles but further away it all blends into a beautiful purple shade. This was the main serena collection polish i was after. I am a huge purple freak so I buy MANY purple polishes and honestly I don't think I have anything really like it.This one will be used often and I may need to buy a back up.

OPI's Grape .

OPI's Grape . . . Set . . . Match is a dark vampy blue-based purple semi-foil to foil finish polish with pink, blue, and purple dense microglitter and a flash of pink shimmer. Outdoors is where the foil finish and microglitter really pop to give it a mirror-like quality and very sparkly. Indoors under ambient lighting the foil does not show up as much and this looks like a glittery very dark purple polish (but still very pretty). Application was a little weird on this one. The polish tends to be slightly gloopy because of all the glitter. (I have found a lot of foil finishes to be this way.) The first coat was very gloopy, streaky, and almost muddy; however, the second coat covered it all nicely. I probably could have gotten away with two coats but there was still "some" streaking showing through so I added a third coat. Drying time on this one, for some reason, was extremely slow. It was still tacky at ten minutes after the third coat. However, with another topcoat and SV it was completely dry in 20 minutes. All in all, while I like this color, I'm finding it a little dark for my taste and pale skin and although I indicated that I would buy it again, I don't see myself reaching for this one very often.
