My everyday lip colour is NARS lacquer in 'Chelsea Girls' for a polished nude that I apply over peachy-pink liner for extra depth. This product, though, is not without its flaws (ie it's expensive and not moisturising enough on my prone-to-dryness lips). But, as I've had great success with various NYX products (e.g. I love their liners as much as MAC ones), I thought I'd see if their lip lacquer pots would be a decent (and considerably cheaper) substitute. I bought three 'Georgia Peach', 'Coffee Run' and 'Rainbow'. They come in Nars-esque packaging (in fact, you can switch lids if branding is important to you!) and a range of twelve shades. 'Georgia Peach' is the closest in colour to 'Chelsea Girls', although it is more of a pale peach than a true nude. It comes out paler than CG on my lips. In fact it looks quite milky. But applied over a liner, both shades can look good (at least initially). The finish is quite shiny (which I actually like), rather than the semi-matte effect of CG. However, I'm not keen on the thinner texture, which means coverage isn't so good. I like that CG is quite opaque because it masks the blue tones of my naturally plum-coloured lips, which is essential for creating the nude effect I want. I also find that the NYX lacquer's 'slippiness' makes it slightly harder to apply evenly. It isn't very longwearing, either, drying up to give the dreaded white line on the inner lips. 'Coffee Run' and 'Rainbow' I've yet to try, but in the pots the former looks like a blue-based shimmery pink, and the latter looks like a yellowy-beige concealer shade. I'll update the review if I find they perform any differently from 'Georgia Peach.' As it stands, though, I'm going to have to stick with NARS until I can find a better dupe.UPDATE: I've tried 'Rainbow' a bizarrely colourful name for such a dull shade. It looks awful on me; unwearable. It creates pure concealer lips so I'm guessing it's not designed as a wear-alone shade, but as a toning down product to wear with too-bright lipsticks. That said, it applies a little streakily, so I don't know how worthwhile it would be as a base product. Couldn't bin it fast enough.
