I'm a big fan of duochrome (or multichrome) polishes, and of China Glaze, despite their hit or miss history with duochromes. This one definitely works well, with a strong, clear colour shift and intriguing play of colours. It goes from a berry-tinted rose to an orange-leaning bronze, though it sometimes looks pink-coppery, and in the right light, it will be berry-rose on one side and bronze-copper on the other. Lots of fun to watch and to play with in good light. (I did find that the polish is not very "shifty" in indirect or muted lighting, but it really comes into its own in the sunlight). Application is okay, though there's a tendency to show brush marks. It does self-level and some of the brush marks will smooth as it dries and with application of top coat, and the ones that remained weren't terribly apparent, though I could see them if I looked closely. My only negative comment is that the colour combination isn't that unusual. I've seen it before, and have other polishes with a similar rose-to-gold kind of vibe. This isn't exactly like any other polish I know of, though, so it may just be that I own too many nail polishes (as if such a thing was possible, heheh).

Another unique duo chrome from the 2015 China Glaze Great Outdoors collection.

Another unique duo chrome from the 2015 China Glaze Great Outdoors collection. This one flashes green, bronze, and pink depending on the lighting. Very unique and beautiful.Great formula that applies nicely without streaking or being too runny. Two coats offers full coverage. I got about 5 days of wear with this one.I paid $3.25 for this one. It comes in the standard nail polish bottle with the standard nail polish brush.I would repurchase this unique beauty.

This color is really beautiful.

This color is really beautiful. It's a pink-toned plum with a lot of shimmer. Unfortunately, for me, it only lasted about 36 hours before it had major chips, which is the shortest time any China Glaze color has lasted for me. (This was only two coats since the first coat was still somewhat thin.) If you're wearing it for a specific occasion, it should be fine, but I wouldn't bank on it lasting a whole weekend without a high end topcoat.

China Glaze's Draped in Velvet is a rich medium-dark plum/magenta shimmery polish.

China Glaze's Draped in Velvet is a rich medium-dark plum/magenta shimmery polish. In the bottle it looks like there are microparticles of pink, silver, and blue that do not translate to the nail as glitter but do give it depth, warmth, and shimmer. Application was perfectly smooth and opaque in two coats (one could probably even get away with one coat). Drying timed seemed a little slower than usual (about eight minutes between coats) but not unbearably so. The finish was like glass even without SV but blindingly so with Seche. Wear time was five to six days with Seche Vite over top with no chips. This is a beautiful winter shade of plum that I would definitely buy again.

Draped in Velvet is a lovely rich midtone purple with a hint of pink/red undertone and the tinest microglitter, tiny enough to register as a shimmer to my eye. It's a perfect purple for ladies who usually shy away from purple because they're afraid it will look too "Crayola." The giitter makes this color come alive without being at all blingy. It's opaque at one coat, but I use two to really bring out the glittery goodness. And of course, it applies perfectly, with the legendary China Glaze smoothness. This is a refined, yet playful purple that I will definitely rebuy!
