China Glaze "Let the Beat Drop" {Electric Nights Collection, Summer '15} Glitter, Matte, Chunky, Slightly Red tinted base {layering polish} Pink, Orange, and Purple Glitter 1mm at largest. This is (as of my writing) the only polish I bought from the Electric Nights Collection (I'd intended to get more, but by the time I got to Ulta they'd disbanded the display). I'm usually not one for chunky glitters such as this, but I'd seen good reviews of the three glitters of this set and decided to take a chance on something so fun looking.I found the base to be a little heavy, as is to be expected from glitter polishes, but it left an even finish at the end. It bubbled a little, but the glitter is distracting enough that it didn't make me too upset. I didn't have much trouble getting the glitter from the bottle, but it would have been nice to have a better color distribution the purple, the tertiary color, sometimes only showed up once or twice a nail. I do believe that the base of this is SUPPOSED to be clear, but when I found it the base was noticeably pink toned. This is called "glitter bleeding" and it's worth noting I only tried this polish over white, where it's most visible, I don't know how visible it is over other colors. This polish is a smidge too sheer to wear on its own.As I mentioned, I wore this over white, and, while it didn't give the look I was going for due to the tinted base, I still thing the polish gave a cool effect. It's a very bright, fun polish that would work well with the other polishes from the Electric Nights Collection. The glitter is close in color to "Home Sweet House Music" (the orange glitter), "Violet Vibes" (the purple glitter), and the pink glitter somewhat falls between "Glow with the Flow" and "Plur-Ple", and I'd bet this glitter would look pretty over any of the other crèmes in this set, particularly "Red-y to Rave" and maybe one of the blues, or possibly even "Glow with the Flow". Or over black or white, or maybe a non-neon creme. It's a very versatile glitter. What I like:-China Glaze's brush and bottle are easy to use as always. It's also pretty cheap ($7.50-$8.00) for a high quality brand that has 14ml/.5 fl oz.-The glitter is very fun and bright, perfect for summer and with the other polishes in the collection.-The polish is unique while I'm no connoisseur of indie glitter (which this polish is reminiscent of), I have nothing like it.-The polish was easy to use. What I dislike:-I do believe it's supposed to have a clear base. I don't mind the pink/red base, but still.-There's no way I'm ever going to wear this outside of the months of May-September.Dupes: I don't really own any/know of a ton of indie glitter brands, one of them certainly has a dupe somewhere, but among the mainstream brands it's unique.Would I buy it again? Probably not. Not because I dislike the polish, but I don't see myself buying another bottle for two reasons: 1) I don't buy back-up bottles for polishes I don't love-love, and 2) I don't use up bottles of glitters often, since I don't wear them often.Would I recommend it? To people looking for bright glitter, absolutely. It's such an energetic shade that's always popular in summer. To people who don't have the money for indies (which can be expensive for a very small amount at times), this is a great taste of the style. It's quite a fun polish.
