Midtown Magic is bronze micro glitter in a deep burgundy/brown jelly base. This polish is dark and vampy, and the glitter effect is subtle. In bright, direct light, the polish is nearly black; in softer, indirect lighting, it tends more to a kind of dark purpley-brown. Works well on my very pale, cool-toned skin.Do not be fooled by how it looks in the bottle! When viewed in the bottle, the bronze glitter has an almost sickly edge to it, and it's not very nice looking at all. If I hadn't seen swatches of this, I never would have purchased it, based on the in-the-bottle appearance.Like many jelly type polishes, I get terrible tip wear with this, but it's not something so troubling that I won't wear the polish. When I wear this polish, I feel like my hands look elegant, and I find myself looking at my nails frequently to catch a glimpse of the glitter or to see how the light is playing with the colour. Lots of nail polishes for me are "put it on, don't pay much more attention to it", but this one does draw my eye frequently, and it's pleasing when it does. Very pretty. The formula is a bit on the tricky side, with unpredictable viscosity, but I've used worse. Two coats will probably give acceptable opacity and coverage, but you might like to do three to really bring out the depth this polish is capable of.I will also add that this reminds me very much of Lubu Heels, also by China Glaze, although that one is black jelly with red glitter, with a much more cool-toned look and feel, while Midtown Magic definitely has a warm vibe. Also should add that this removes easily, without the usual hassle associated with glitter nail polishes. Bonus!
