Son of a Nutcracker is a shimmery coral red. It came out as a part of China Glaze Cheers! Collection 2015. The shimmer gives this polish a translucent-like quality (reminds me of candied cherries). It's a nice/safe colour, but for me personally it's lacking a bit of an oomph. The formula is good. I used 2 coats to give me full opacity. This polish is quick drying and it lasts well. All in all it is a nice enough polish, but I own hundreds of polishes, and this one just doesn't stand out enough.

Son Of A Nutcracker is from the holiday 2015 Cheers! collection, and China Glaze call it a fiery orange shimmer. I call it coral it does look like an intense sunset orange in artificial lighting, but in natural sunlight it looks more pink. In the bottle the formula looks shimmery, but the shimmer fades into the formula on the nail, for more of a pearlescent finish.The formula is fast drying, streak-free and it applies over the entire nail on the first coat. It can be opaque in two thicker coats, but I prefer to apply three thinner ones to make sure my peel-prone nails don't leave any bumps. In general nail polishes will last me anywhere between two to four days with only minimal wear. But as I'm a self powered wheelchair user I'm tough on my hands and am always catching my nails, so I can't really speak for how long lasting the formula is overall.

This is not only a gorgeous red nail polish but my boyfriend's favorite red nail polish on me so for that alone I have to give it 5 lippies! :) It's a true red shimmer with slight blue undertones and subtle gold shimmer. Application was easy and smooth, but I have the older non big-3 free formula and boy, does it smell stronger than the new ones! lol

Beautiful red colour. Shimmery and just gorgeous. On of my favourite reds amongs the dozens I own. This is bright without being garish on my dark tanned skin. I find it takes a while to dry completely on me after two coats so I make sure to follow up the second coat with my beloved Poshe topcoat which somehow seems to make the world a better placekidding! actually it just dries all the layers of my nail polish underneath in 10 minutes or less.

A bewitching, true red, as described below. I *can* see the gold shimmer in full sunlight, but it is very fine and, as others have said, more of a glow than a glitter. Is one of those rare reds that looks equally beautiful and rich in low light and full sunlight. Good for warm-toned skins. I get excellent wear; with Creative Stickey as a base and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri as a top coat, I can get a week on my tips without chipping. I imagine a pedicure would last ... forever.
