I recently purchased this at TJ Maxx for $2.

I recently purchased this at TJ Maxx for $2.00 to wear on a beach holiday and am happy with it. The colour is a soft, peachy-rose with a pearl finish. It looks very pretty and feminine and is a great shade for sunny weather. I usually don't like Essie polishes as I think the brush design is poor, and the polishes tend to go on streaky. I think since this is a pearl finish it is a bit more forgiving in terms of streaking, although it has a very sheer finish so I needed to apply four coats to achieve the right look.

I have to agree with the reviews that this is a so so polish despite the beautiful colour.

I have to agree with the reviews that this is a so so polish despite the beautiful colour. I didn't realize it was originally released in the summer of 2006 and I picked up a bottle as part of the re-release. I wanted a pearly pink and this fit the bill, although realizing that Essie's formulas can be hit and miss at times, especially with light shades.Bikini with a Martini is quite runny and watery which is the problem. It's quite sheer which I expected and it would take 3 coats for decent coverage. It's an okay for a neutral look and that's what I'll use it for.

Essie Bikini with a Martini is an EXTREMELY sheer pink with a blue/lavender flash.

Essie Bikini with a Martini is an EXTREMELY sheer pink with a blue/lavender flash. It's a beautiful color but I don't believe there would be any way to achieve opaque bottle color without layering over some other color. I did one nail and was at five coats and could still see through it. At that point I took it off and layered three coats of Bikini with a Martini over OPI's Pinking of You. At that point it looked like what was in the bottle. However, I don't like to wear seven coats of polish (counting base and top) so I would not be using this again. I got seven days of wear out of this combination before it started to chip around the cuticles. (I had tip wear at day two because of typing.) If this color could be made opaque, I would definitely buy it again but this is so sheer it's basically a top coat. Edit: I forgot to add that I finished this manicure at 4 pm and sat for another two hours before doing anything with my hands. At that point it still seemed like it was "soft" (if I were to have bumped it, it would have dented). Went to bed at 9:30 pm and woke up with sheet marks. Now, I realize I had on seven coats of polish; however, I've done seven with OPI, finished the mani later in the day, and NEVER woke up with sheet marks. Other reviewers have stated that Essie takes forever to dry and I'm tending to agree.

Hi, Wet n Wild called, they want their pink polish back.

Hi, Wet n Wild called, they want their pink polish back. I love essie, but this one was a total disappointment. Watery consistency and kind of trashy looking color. Oh well.

I would rate this as average at best.

I would rate this as average at best. This is a pretty iridescent pink with a gold sheen. There are a million other polishes that look similar, and I am not fond of the super watery texture that it has. It doesn't look good with 1-2 coats, it takes 3+ coats just to make this more opaque. This is from Essie's 2006 summer line, I believe. I won't plan on buying this LE polish again anyways.
