I find that Essie polishes are generally hit or miss, with either horrible or great formulas. The Perfect Cover Up is one of those great formulas. The Perfect Cover Up, as the name would suggest, goes on opaque with one coat. This is rare with Essie polishes, so I was quite impressed. However, I would still stick with doing two coats because the polish chips more quickly with only one coat. The color is unusual and complex. In the bottle, the polish looks like a cool-toned gray, with some green undertones. The polish actually dries on the nail with a stronger green undertone, and almost looks like a dark muted green. Either way, it's an unusual color and I enjoy it for the fall and winter.
