I have a problem with most of my red lippies turning some sort of pinkish red considering my NC44 Mac SFF/Clinique Stay 20 Matte Deep Neutral skin and slightly rosy lippies. I want a true red on me and I was told that as I am warm toned I should go for orange-red lippies.Nyx Pure Red is described exactly like this so I bought it to give a try at such a color. Man! I am glady I did. It turns truly red on me. No more pinkish!Great color pay off and soft texture.It has some things I don't like though. It is a somewhat bright satin instead of really matte, although Nyx sells it like this. It accumulates in the folds of my lips, giving them a uneven appearance. I believe it needs a lip pencil as it bleeds. The package is a little fragile and feels like there is something unattached inside it, contrary to Milani, which is another brand I own a red lippie.All in all, if you are not that into matte and want a true red I recommend it.PS: Now I am going to try other orange-red lippies for sure.

I bought Pure Red on eBay, it arrived today, and it's looking like a SERIOUS find!I have a weird relationship with red lipstick: Blue-based reds, and even shades presented as "true red," almost invariably turn a garish dark pink once applied to my lips. Even though one would expect cooler reds to be most flattering on NW15, brunette, green-eyed me, I actually find that I prefer warmer, "tomato" reds because they show up as more of a true red. It was a real revelation when I, in my 30s, discovered that MAC Powerhouse looked honest-to-goodness RED on me. I adored it, then had to stop buying MAC when they lost their cruelty-free status, and they discontinued Powerhouse anyhow. The search was on for a dupe, and it was fairly unsuccessful. Recently, though, I came across a BEAUTIFUL bright true red in Stila “Beso, but it's a liquid formula, which I don't like. So the search was on for a true red in stick form.Pure Red is making my day by blazing true red on me.And it's cruelty-free, inexpensive, comfortable, and long-wearing.What's to NOT love?

This is probably my next HG red, next to Russian Red (which is a beautiful retro blue-based classic lippie). Where have you been all my life?NYX Pure Red is a classic bright yellow-based red. It has orange undertones, but still a bold red. Like a succulent red tomato. It's everything I want Lady Danger to be (which is more orange by the way). Although bright and punchy, I think this classic would work all-year round I swear I can even pull this off in elegant occasions. Perfect fiery summer red! It's matte, but comfortable to apply. Has some sheen to it. Feathers, but I guess a lipliner can solve that. And it's SUPER pigmented. You have to be careful not to smudge it on your skin, it's kinda hard to take off! The color transfer is just too much, but it lasts even if you drank! I'm a MAC girl, but this shade is perfect for me. Reasonably priced too, I'm so happy!

I got the Pure Red colour after loving other NYX matte lipsticks. This lipstick is amazing. Super pigmented and lasts a very long time. I applied it this morning at 8am (no liner, no prep) and it is almost 5pm and it still looks perfect with zero touch ups! Can't beat that! The colour is definitely more of a fire red, but not overtly orange. Bright hot colour, with a perfect matte finish. I find it comfortable to wear as well. Only downside is that it does feather a bit on me, which is odd, but I think that has more to do with my lazy application than the lipstick. Some proper preparation and lipliner would likely remedy that.

I haven't had much success with nyx lipsticks in the past and am a high end lipstick addict, but I still bought this on impulse because when shopping at target. It surprised me as I really like it. I haven't heard much of this line before as you usually hear about the soft matte lip creams.

The shade is a fiery orange red, which isn't too orange. I dislike orange lipsticks but this one is acceptable for me. The packaging is boring and cheap but whatever it's NYX not Chanel. The formula applies smoothly for a matte and it is very pigmented. I prefer to apply with a brush and because this product doesn't bleed I can forgo liner. It isn't 100% matte but I really couldn't care less, I like how it is as mattes often KILL my lips. It wasn't hydrating but it didn't zap moisture from my lips either.

This will transfer onto cups etc. but it will last a good few hours on the lips fairly comfortably. No regrets in buying and I'd like to try more shades from this range.
