So I'm pretty sure NYX discontinued this product. You can still get it on sites like Amazon and Ebay, however. That's how I got it. I ordered the glitter cream palette and the seller was also giving away samples of lipsticks and Opal was one of them. Opal's color is misleading. I knew that before I bought it though! If you wanted a pure white then I would go for "Coconut" in Nyx's Macaron Pastel Lippies line ($6). It's a really pretty shade despite the fact it's not white. It comes off pink and a bit sparkly, but it's very sheer. I really like it because the color looks good on me.The product itself is cheap. The smell is waxy maybe because it's old or because it was simply a sample. I would buy this product again if someone could confirm that the full product was not waxy smelling and that NYX was still making them! If anyone knows of any products similar to this then please message me and tell me about it! Overall, I love the color, but it was a cheap lipstick.

NYX Opal lipstick is a lot like NYX Opal eyeshadow. It looks white in the tube, but when applied to the lips, it is nearly transparent with purple and blue flashes in the sparkles. I have uploaded a photo of this lipstick applied to the lips. In natural light, this lipstick looks like a gloss with transparent lavender iridescence. It is a very young shade because of the sheerness and the sparkles. I tried to layer this over a neutral pink lip liner and the result was okay, not outstanding. There are other glosses out there that work better for layering. Also, NYX round lipsticks have a creamy slick texture, so the lipstick wears off quickly and often takes the lip liner with it.I don't think this shade is horrible, it's just subtle and young. I think this would make a fun first lipstick for a young girl. This lipstick might also work for layering, adding a sheer but funky sparkle over your base color. Otherwise, I'd pass on this shade.
