I was looking for a darker liner than I usually purchase. I needed to line my lips with my new favorite matte lipstick, and that too is actually from NYX it's called liquid lingerie (I've done a review on that too) so I picked this up in Prune 834. I'm so glad I did. This color is just what I needed to line my liquid lingerie 'Embellishment' The color is a dark purple with a slight pink undertone and it lines smoothly and stays great. Its just what I needed. This color is beautiful and I've been so in love with NYX recently. You can't beat the price/quality.

I own MAC lip pencils but also buy NYX to carry in hand bag. Thus being able to leave a $20 lip pencil at home and not risk losing in the streets. Like all NYX pencils I have used thus far this goes on smooth. Granted I keep my lips exfoliated and moisturized before putting anything on my lips.Last as long as MAC. Its a color along the lines of Nars Volga lipstick that I own. This is NOT a dupe for MAC Heroine lip pencil its too dark for that. Purple Rain works fine with Heroine lip stick. If you are looking for a MAC Magenta dupe try NYX Bloom. I own both MAC/NYX so have compared both.

i found these slim pencils at a variety store. i was looking for a cool toned purple-plum with some berry tones. this was the closest i could find. its not that dark on me but such a stark, cold purple. its the quality of these that are horrible. they are rock hard making it impossible to spread on....no moisture to be found not even with a lipbalm or lipstick. it goes on choppy and tastes like a lead pencil. i had to use baby oil and soap n water to remove the lead taste. this is the worst lipliner i have ever bought and it was $4.00 with a 0 refund policy. i dont know why these liners got such great reviews. i tried using it to touch up my magenta red hair roots when they grew out....looked n worked better on my hair. THESE SUCK. im sticking to wet n wild icon pencils.....berry red, plumberry and fabulous fushia...they are pretty, moist and 99 cents.

I like bold shades and I even own blackberry from NYX, this doesn't in any way shape or form come out dark on me. I have light to medium skin Neutral tone. I have just taken my hair just short of platinum blond. I have this on right now on its own as a lippy. I put a little balm over the top as it's just a bit dry and this is a rich plum tone mauve on me perfect with a neutral eye. I haven't used this with my darker lippys yet because most of the time I keep those for fall/winter but this is just perfect right now to give a cooler tone lip without being vampy. I'm sure I can darken the color or pair this with Blackberry if you want it darker but do not be afraid it will work with a lighter hand.

I don't think I'd call the color "scary" or "goth" but it is a nice, unmistakable purple. Rumored to be an acceptable substitute for MAC's limited edition lip pencil in Heroine, I bought this because I didn't have a pure purple liner like this. Currently using it often with Maybelline's Color Sensational lipgloss in Mirrored Plum, a great pairing. Doesn't feather, this is a great quality liner with a pleasing lower price point.
