This isn't one of my favourite OPIs unfortunately.

This isn't one of my favourite OPIs unfortunately. The colour in the bottle looks pretty, coral-orange laced with pink shimmer. It looks quite nice on the nails too, not to bright and the shimmer is clear under bright lighting. It is definitely a pretty summer shade and also makes a great pedicure. However, the formula is not so great. I found it to be very sheer, even with 4 coats there was slight visible nail line. Usually I can get opacity in 2 coats from OPI, so to still have visible nail line with 4 coats was disappointing. It is passable, but is vnl is a pet-peeve for you, then I recommend avoiding this shade. It wore reasonably, lasting for around 3 days when paired with base and top coat though with 4 coats I would have liked it to wear for longer. I usually can get 4-5 days from OPI shades. As such, I am disappointed in this shade and would not recommend it.

Currently my favorite nail polish of the summer.

Currently my favorite nail polish of the summer. Why? Because most coral pinky reds tend to look too orange/red on me when I want it to lean more pink. Down to the Core-Al has a pink shimmer in it that I believe guarantees it will lean more pink on any skintone. The shimmer doesn't turn it into a frost either (think of a subtle glimmer like "China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise"). That being said, however, the formula is a bit finnicky because I think this is one of those polishes that need a white base to look its best. BUT it is NOT one of those sheer neons that need a white base to become opaque in the first place. It just needs a white base to become a bit more neon (and even then it is mild because it's still not eye-searing) rather than just a bright coral. There is a noticeable difference in brightness if you use a white base. However, if brightness/intensity is something you don't care about, then just skip the white base because you'll be fine with the polish's opacity. My personal routine is base coat, 1 coat of OPI Alpine Snow (I try to make it as even as possible by 1 coat because 2 coats would make it way too thick), 2 coats of Down to the Core-Al, and then Seche Vite. (This polish dries matte but all neon nail polishes dry matte. Just topcoat it.)

As a kid, I loved to collect shiny, new pennies because their rich orange/rust shine enchanted me.

As a kid, I loved to collect shiny, new pennies because their rich orange/rust shine enchanted me. I've always wanted to find a nail polish that captured that same fascination I felt as a child and I found it in Down to My Last Penny. Never before was I able to find a nail color that looked exactly, EXACTLY like penny fresh from the mint. This makes a great end-of-summer color for tan/olive/bronze skin tones. Perfection!

This is a rich copper color.

This is a rich copper color. I do like it but find that I only use it in the fall. It's interesting that my daughter who loves orange nail polish colors does not care for it. I will probably repurchase this in the future if I ever use it all, but since I use it so little, maybe not.

Down To My Last Penny is a very bronzy, coppery color.

Down To My Last Penny is a very bronzy, coppery color. I will put it in the red family but has very strong orange base. The metallic finish is stunning and I think it's too loud for the nails but it will be perfect for pedicure. The application is excellent and I only put 2 coats and I have a complete coverage. The finish is very smooth too.The color compliments my skintone very well but I guess if my skin tone is darker, it will be even better. Although I give it a 4, I will not repurchase this color again as this color is somehow outdated.
