I found this polish on ebay for a reasonable price. I don't know how old it is, but it has to be prior to 2006 based on the oldest review. It still applies like new, and it is a beautiful light shade of red, I would describe it as a bright tomato red, or a "summertime" red (if there is such a thing). Love it. Would buy again.

Firecracker Red has been discontinued and this color is a bright red looks exactly like firecracker. To me, the color is quite muted. It is not a really bright happy red. But instead it has a muted tone.I do like this color as I only need one coat to make it opaque. I didn't put any top coat that's why the color is easy to chip. I do find this is a nice color and will buy it again if the price is cheaper.

I believe Firecracker Red has been renamed/reused by OPI a few times the dupes I have are Holiday Red and the 2009 Comet Loves Cupid. There are probably more but you should be able to locate CLC still if you are looking for a good, retro, standard primary red creme.

Firecracker Red was released within the past few years as part of a US July 4th collection, but I am not sure exactly when. I had only seen the set of July 4th minis, which included Firecracker Red, Blue My Mind, and Alpine Snow, so I was quite surprised to find this polish in a full size in a dusty old salon at Logan airport. Being the red nut that I am, I had to buy it (and comedy ensued as I was at first not allowed to bring my newly acquired nail polish onto the plane...*sigh* :D). Firecracker Red does indeed live up to its name: it is a bright, slightly warm red that is not all too different from the tens of other red cremes I have, but I think it looks nice, anyway!
