I wanted this polish so badly. It just looked so pretty in a video I saw and I obsessed over it. Then a friend said, oh, I have it and I don't wear OPIs anymore. So she gave it to me. Thank goodness for small favors, because the cheapest I saw it on eBay today was $20.75. It is a stunning polish. But I could not get it opaque. I even tried 4 coats on one nail, which is against everything I believe in, and it still wasn't opaque. I still love it though and I will definitely try it again soon.
OPI Squeaker of the House from Fall 2016 Washington DC collection is a mid-tone milk chocolate brown creme. I was reluctant to try it because I've never tried such a BROWN nail polish. I screwed up my courage :) and ended up loving it.I used my usual Orly Bonder base coat, two coats of Squeaker and Seche Vite quick dry top coat. Shortly after applying I bumped my index finger which rumpled the polish on the free edge. Grrrr... I hate it when it's my fault LOL. I fixed it by brushing pure acetone on the rumple to smooth it, then i dabbed Squeaker on the exposed nail. Once that was covered I applied a coat on the entire nail followed by Seche Vite. It worked! I wore it for five days and had no chipping. I removed it because I wanted to try another color. By the way I hand wash dishes (no dishwasher) and I seldom use gloves (I know) and still no chipping. I work for a big corporation and there are no restrictions on nail color but, even so, Squeaker is appropriate for an office environment. It's surprisingly neutral and worked with a variety of outfits. I'm glad I tried it and would definitely repurchase if I run out. I have medium olive-neutral skin tone. Now I want to try other browns. I'm also going to try Squeaker on my toes. Maybe it will be chic!
First OPI polish I ever bought and made me a convert. This is the perfect neutral gray, which I've been looking for for a while. It takes two layers, maybe three if you apply them light, to become opaque. Dries quickly. Sadly, I think this colour might be discontinued :( This colour stays bright and good-looking for days after you apply it, unlike lower quality polishes, which seem to dull after a little while.OPI costs $20 where I live; luckily I got this one for $10. Even at $20, I'd say OPI is worth it, generally speaking.
This is a beautiful shade of cool medium brown it actually reminds me of milk chocolate, yet it's a sophisticated choice for someone who wants an office-appropriate neutral but is tired of pale pinks and nudes. It is also very flattering on me. Application was a bit tricky: the first coat went on streaky and patchy, but the second (thicker) coat evened it out beautifully.BTW, I've read comments on other websites that some people are offended by the name of this polish and I don't understand why. It's obviously a play on words of Speaker of the House, but squeaker is a real political term, referring to either a bill which is passed in the legislature by the slimmest of margins or a candidate who gets elected by a very narrow vote.
Nice! From their Washington D.C. Collection for Fall 2016, OPI's Squeaker of the House is a rich shade of mocha brown with a very slight purple tinge. Dries to a lovely creamy finish. Very flattering, looks gorgeous on the nail.Great formula too. Opaque in two coats and no problems with application or wear.I don't usually go for brown shades, but when I saw this one in the store I just really liked it for some reason. I'm so glad I got it, because the shade is YUMMY.I would definitely buy this one again.
