Take A Right On Bourbon is from OPI New Orleans Collection.

Take A Right On Bourbon is from OPI New Orleans Collection. This is a spring/summer collection in 2016. This is an interesting color. I thought at the beginning it is silver. However, the moment I put my nails closer to my cosmetic silver/chrome jar cap, I find it doesn't look silver. It leans more champagne as it has a little bit of gold in it. It also has some very fine micro-golden glitter which makes this color interesting. It has a pearly/frosty metallic finish. The application for this polish is not easy. I will have to say it is similar to any of the pearly/frosty nail lacquer, it is hard not to see any brush stroke. However, I manage to achieve a "near" brush streak free finish by applying less polish on each stroke. The angle and the strength of applying is also important. I angle my brush so it does not pull all the stroke on my nails. I also try to apply three strokes. One in the middle and two on each side. Each stroke I dip a bit of nail lacquer, not too much though. Otherwise it will make it look very very streaky. Due to its frosty/pearly finish, it does wash out my skin tone. I find this color is interesting. I think it looks better when I have longer nails than short one. Depends on the occasion, I find this color suits more evening with black or white dress. It leans towards more of a sophisticated look than a casual one. I would not say this color is a disappointment because it does grow on me. I guess when applying it, the technique is really important. I have learnt not to put too much nail lacquer on each stroke and it does make a difference. I think the more lacquer I have on each stroke, it will create more uneveness and hard to make it opaque. When I apply it carefully and with less lacquer, I can build it up easily and can achieve a "near" streak free finish. If you like pearly color, you may like it. However, I do find that it does wash out your skin tone. When I choose to buy this again or not, it totally depends on whether I will wear it again, if I choose to wear this color again, I will definitely buy it.

I agree completely with the 2nd review.

I agree completely with the 2nd review. I have a mini bottle from the New Orleans mini set. I'll also say that the color in the bottle is very alluring, it struck me as "more than just a silver". I'd not read a color description but immediately picked up on a warmth to it, so I bit and purchased. Thank goodness it was only the mini bottle, that's why I love these mini sets. Just as almost all reviewers thus far have noted it is streaky/"brush strokey" as all get out, which is not uncommon in chrome-type polishes, but there are some out there that aren't. It's not horrible, but I didn't enjoy it on me.

Got a free bottle of this (limited edition collection from Spring 2016 New Orleans) and it is not...

Got a free bottle of this (limited edition collection from Spring 2016 New Orleans) and it is not pewter it is a frosted pale taupe. I guess it could look pewterish/silvery. It's nice on me and was not "brush strokey" after the 2nd coat. I am a PPP but in summer (It's August now) I have a decent tan and am more of an NC 25 than my usual NC 10/15.Not a HG but not bad.For a free bottle of GEL color? I'll totally use it.

Take a Right on Bourbon is from OPI New Orleans Collrction Spring 2016.

Take a Right on Bourbon is from OPI New Orleans Collrction Spring 2016. I saw this polish described as metallic pewter. And even though I don't agree with this description I can't come up with anything better. There is a pearly, frosty look to this warm silver polish. For me this polish is a disappointment. The formula is not great it is extremely brushstroke-y and I needed 3 coats for full opacity. And the colour/finish doesn't suit my skin tone. The only politive for me is that it makes an ok base for stamping. I only have this polish in a miniature bottle. I am aware that the brush is not as good, as it is in the full size bottle. But even so, I would not repurchase this polish again.

Eh.

Eh. Pretty color. Pale, whitish silver with a frosty finish. But it just didn't look very good on my nail. Application is EXTREMELY brushstroke-y with this one!Take a Right on Bourbon is from OPI's New Orleans Collection for Spring 2016. It's nice but there are better silvers out there than this one. I prefer Essie's No Place Like Chrome or OPI's My Signature is DC.Liked it but didn't love it. Wouldn't buy it again.
