Viking In A Vinter Vonderland is a very dark eggplant purple colour which looks black in some lights. It is a very vampy shade, and not one I would usually go for. However, once I applied it onto my nail, I was surprised that it did look quite flattering on my NC15 skin. It was clearly a purple, only in dim light would it be confused for black, and it didn't pull too warm or plummy one me it was definitely a cool-toned shade of eggplant. The colour has a creme finish and an excellent formula. Only two coats were needed to reach full opacity, and it did not apply with streaks or patches. It dried quickly and to a shiny finish. It lasted around 5 days on my nails with base and top coat I find this to be the standard wear time from OPI polishes. It also didn't stain my nail upon removal a huge plus for a dark shade. I would recommend anyone who is a fan of vampy shades, or a fan of purples. It is a pretty, easy to use wear colour which would suit many occasions. Oh, and the name is super fun as well what more do you want?!

Another great shade from OPI. Very dark plum almost black. Great for the winter months. very flattering with my fair skin. 2 coats to perfect opaque application. Wears good like my other OPI polish. Love it on my fingers and toes.

Gorgeous black plum. I had been looking for this shade for a long time. It's flattering even with my pale skin. Rich pigment, lovely color.Opaque and more purple with one coat; deeper, more black shade in two coats. Good shine, goes on smoothly. Typical high quality OPI formula: dries nicely, looks pretty, and lasts well.

I have over 300 0pi colors and this one is pretty but not a favorite. I had to apply 3 coats because it was runny and streaky. Turns out like black with a purple undertone with hints of blue. I will wear it for a few days then be done. Would rather it have more of a plum undertone like Honk if you love OPI. Would not buy again but will keep in my stash just because I collect polish! 1-16-16 tried it again and still dislike it. So hard to apply and not impressed with the color! I tried twice! Nope!!!!

I must have gotten a bad bottle because I was a little disappointed in this polish. First, the color looks like a gorgeous deep violet/aubergine in the bottle but it looks more plum on my nails. I was hoping for a vampy grape purple but it pulls more red-violet on me. Also, the formula was patchy at 3 coats. This has a crelly formula and it was rather streaky as well as slow drying on me. So while I will continue to use this, I probably wouldn't repurchase since it wasn't the polish I thought it would be. I still prefer Siberian Nights for a deep eggplant purple. A rare miss for me from OPI :(
