I would describe this as a neutral medium-dark purple cream. On me it doesn't look like a jelly. When I put on the first coat I was feeling pretty skeptical about it, because the first coat goes on very streaky. With a second coat it leveled out pretty nicely. It's not too thick or thin, and is pretty easy to work with. I like using it as a base for glitters. I generally find the brush on Orly polishes a little thin, but it works well with this polish. As always the grippy top is great! I don't think I'd buy it again, because I don't find the color that special.
The colour is a beautiful purple, grape with a jelly finish. It took about 3 coats to become opaque and I applied one more for a deeper colour. It dried in an average amount of time and hasn't chipped so far (one day).
I like this a lot. I've been frustrated lately with polishes I buy being so not what they look like online/blogs/photos. This actually is. I wanted a nice deep purple that was still bright enough to be noticed yet not shimmery. This is my first Orly, but so far so good. I bought 2 others and the formula seems great. A little long to dry but such a nice shine and thickness. The only real issue is that the brushes I checked out in the store and even mine are a tad bit crappy. They have stray bristles and this is from supposedly unused polish? Wish the brush was better. Still, application for me was fine.
Charged Up is a bright purple but it's not exactly neon. It was around $5 at Sally's where I picked it up. I feel it the color is very unique. I feel the only downsides which are minimal that the brush is somewhat thin to some wider ones like OPI. But that could be a preference thing. Also the polish goes on very sheer, especially the first. But I felt after three coats (which I didn't mind applying) it was decently opaque and if you really wanted it thick you could apply a fourth and be set. Another thing I love about this polish it dries quickly so that definitely helps with the amount of coats you need to apply. Otherwise I love this polish!
Oh how I LOVE this jelly, beautiful color.. but yes awful formula and very difficult to apply nicely in 2 coats =( Will probably repurchase.. maybe by the second bottle I can perfect getting it on smoothly...for now I am using crackles over it :)
