Orly Smoked Out is from their Fall 2014 "Smokey" collection. This is an interesting shade! When you first open the bottle, it looks like a very deep marine blue jelly with green microglitter. The first coat looks blue but the 2nd coat looks more black and opaque... and then it ends up drying matte! I already knew this though from reading Vampy Varnish's blog, and you can leave it as is, or bring it to life with a shiny top coat and then you have what looks like a blackened base with tiny green microglitters that have the prettiest sparkle. It looks rather Christmas-y as the shiny top coat really brightens the glitter! Application was so easy it went exactly where you want it to go. (So unlike their Le Chateau blackened green from 2011 I really made a mess of that one!) Drying time is decently short, especially if you add a quick dry top coat. I had to add another layer the next day to make it completely smooth but the end result is worth it. Removal is not as cumbersome as glitters tend to be, since the glitter is so tiny. You don't need the foil method to take this off. You can if you want to but it's not necessary. And as for staining? None! Very pleased about that (though if you do get staining, get yourself some Roux Clean Touch from Sally, in the hair colour aisle. That stuff removes hair dye AND polish stains!) Wow, what a gorgeous colour, a deep, shimmery red that leans toward wine without being purple. It looks red in pretty much any light and never slips into "warm off black" the way many darker polishes do. In some light, it has a gorgeous soft but rich golden surface iridescence. The formula is so good this is very possibly a one-coater, as well. Very impressed with this one, and as I own a lot of deep reds and near-reds, that's saying quite a lot. Well done, Orly!

Wow! Smolder really does fit this shade well. I adore Orly polishes, from the bottle to the gripper handle to the quick dry formula, etc... and this one is a real winner. Right off the bat, this is a joy to apply. It goes where you want it to and doesn't run into the cuticles. What makes this spectacular is the shade of glowing red. With the first coat, you can see some blue in the mix (like how OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest applies) but with the 2nd coat it turns into the most gorgeous deep glowing red berry shimmer (that still looks red in every lighting). I got a lot of compliments with this one and it worked well with my skin tone (not all reds do!) Very happy with this one.
