Perennial Chic is a new release from the Flowerista collection for spring 2015. This is a nice peachy neutral that looks great on my skintone. It does not give me mannequin hands as the peach is strong and it looks creamy and warm with a slightly darker color and more pigment than my hands, I wasn't sure this would be a good polish for my coloring but it works well. It's not a groundbreaking gotta have it color, but it's a good basic and wearable year 'round unlike neons which are strictly summer shades. The formula on this is very nice and it glides on smoothly without streaking, flooding, pooling, or running. The brush on these Essies is not my favorite because it is smaller and narrower and it takes several strokes to cover the full nail, especially my thumbnails. It doesn't fan out much but it is flexible and soft and applies the polish well I just wish it were fuller and fanned out and covered more surface area with a single stroke. Aside from that, it's all good. I have been wearing this for 5 days now and without a single chip. I do not use Chip Skip or any other anti chip products. I always use a protein base coat, 2 coats of polish and a fast drying top coat. My mani is still going strong and shows only slight tip wear which is normal wear and tear for any manicure. This is a nice warm shade and I am delighted I picked it up even though it's basically a peachy nude. I did got through my stash and even though I had 3 that were similar in the bottle the closest one I had to this is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in 105 Bare It All which is very close but slightly tanner and the Essie has that peach warmth to it, so this is not easily dupeable at all. I was so sure that I had several dupes for this and nope, not a single one. So this is a unique shade in my collection although like I said it's not groundbreaking but it should be a resident in any good collection. I did get a couple compliments on this and people asking me what I had on so they could buy it too. It's not one of my favorites as I prefer strong color over neutrals, but it's really nice and I will happily wear it again. This is a great color for year 'round use and being a neutral it will transition easily from the office to a elegant gala event and look right at home regardless. This is a classic always in fashion shade. Good job Essie!
