OPI Gelcolor soak off gel polish (released on October of 2011) applies just like traditional nail polish, but gives your like a super shiny finish that lasts up to two weeks. You can just simply apply the gel like regular nail polish and cure it under a UV or LED lamp for the specified period of time.
Why choose OPI Gelcolor?
OPI Gelcolor is produced by the largest manufactur of nail products in the world. OPI's Gelcolor will last for 2 weeks and is made specifically to fight the normal wear and tear from daily activities. Their formula does not damage the natural nails and will help keep your nails strong and healthy.
How long does it take for OPI Gelcolor to cure?
The curing times for Gelcolor gel polish is highly dependent on the type of lamp that you are using. For LED Lamps, Gelcolor will take 20-30 seconds to cure. However, with a UV Lamp, it will take 2 - 3 minutes to cure. Check out the latest LED lamp for faster curing!
How do I use OPI Gelcolor polish?
The Gelcolor application process is very similar to the other soak off gel polishes... This is how you do it:
Step 1. Prepare the nail by using an orangewood stick to push the cuticles back for a clean application of gel
Step 2. Shape your nails to your style with a natural nail filer (150 grit or higher)
Step 3. Prepare the natural nail by gently removing the shine using a buffer... lightly buff it to rough up the nail beds
Step 4. Remove the oils and dust on your nail by using nail cleanser

Step 5. (Roll the gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Base Coat onto your nail.
Step 6. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 10 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 1 minute. The top coat will remain tacky/sticky, but this is normal of any soak off gel polish.
Step 7. (Roll the Gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Color coat to your nail. Don't forget to cap the nail edges to create a seal. Make sure you remove any Gelcolor from the skin prior to curing.
Step 8. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.
Step 9. Apply a second coat of Gelcolor color to the nail.
Step 10. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.
Step 11. Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Top Coat onto your nail. The top coat creates a high shine while protecting the gel layers below it from damage. Don't froget to cap the nail edges to create a seal.
Step 12. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.
Step 13. Use a liberal amount of alcohol (99%) or gel cleanser with a lint free pad to remove the tacky/sticky residue from your nail.

One of the best Shatters that I've ever encountered.
One of the best Shatters that I've ever encountered. This one definitely has a different formula than any other shatter polish that I've ever tried. Nicki Minaj really isn't my favorite person, but I got this nail polish as a gift, and couldn't really question it. It turned out to be absolutely incredible! The consistency was much thinner than most shatters, and it did an incredible job of shattering. Very, very, very beautiful! As for staying power, it stayed on for about two weeks with my OPI Top Coat. The only reason as to why I've knocked this down by a star is the fact that it dried on me. I guess it's gel-based in some way, because after about a year, it solidified into a hard gel-like mass. That was extremely unfortunate, since I loved it so much. It costs $9, which isn't too terrible, but you do get your money's worth out of thisjust be sure that you don't store it in the bathroom!
As much as I HATE Nicki Garbage, this shatter is rather nice and goes on easily and looks nice on...
As much as I HATE Nicki Garbage, this shatter is rather nice and goes on easily and looks nice on most base colors. I am also not a fan of Shatter since it goes bad quicker and Crackle lasts longer in the bottle, I still would recommend this one.
I have a hard time describing this color.
I have a hard time describing this color. My best guess is that it's a vampy raisin-brown-plum base with pink and gold shimmer. I thought the formula on this was great; it was opaque in 2 coats and wasn't streaky. However, I was disappointed that the shimmer that is so evident in the bottle is so hidden on the nails. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful polish, but I'm just not 'wowed' by it like I am by other OPI polishes. I also found this to chip fairly easily on me.
I have been waiting for OPI to come out with a purple shatter for quite sometime.
I have been waiting for OPI to come out with a purple shatter for quite sometime. I was kind of nervous about this one though, because I prefer the matte shatters (Black, white, navy) over the sparkly ones (Blue, Turqouise, etc) because I find they have a better consistency. This has a bit of a shimmerit is like halfway between the finish of the matte and the sparkles. The consistency was surprisingly great! Went on super easy and looked great.I am sooo glad that they made it a plum instead of a brighter purple! I had been discussing with a friend before they came out with this that I hope OPI would come out with a plum shatter. Did not disappoint!
I love this shatter.
I love this shatter. I came across it at Ulta and had to get!! It is such a unique color for a shatter and the shimmer it has is beautiful. It's kind of a berry-plum-grape kind of purple. Either way, it's an amazing color.I love the brush this shatter comes with. It's the widest brush I have in any of my shatters. I can do a whole nail in two strokes! The consistency is also something I must rave about. Its much thinner, like the pink shatter that was released last year. It's not all thick and goopy like the others. And I hope it stays that way! I hate having to always clean my shatters every single time I use them! The only reason I gave it a 4 was because it doesn't work on matte polishes! ): (I had China Glaze in Little Drummer Boy on with China Glaze in Fairy Dust on top and a matte top coat to finish it all off) I was slightly disappointed in that aspect. I'm not sure if the other shatters work on matte polishes or not, as this is the first time I've tried that combination
