This shade of red didn't strike me as anything special and it also stained my nails horribly.Good OPI formula, so two lippies instead of one. But there are a million reds out there and I wouldn't buy this one again.(If you're looking for a killer dark red, I love and recommend OPI's Malaga Wine. It's PERFECT.)
Currently one of the oldest polishes in my collection, but still in the same state as when I first purchased it: needs 3 coats to be reasonably even and opaque. However, I recently tried two coats of it with Trind Nail Repair Matt as base coat and Mavadry as top coat, and its staying power surprised me. I'm not much into white polish and have little patience for French manicures, but this shimmer looks very nice against tanned skin in the sun.
I got a craving for a dark red nail polish yesterday after work, stopped by the drugstore and picked up this baby. I was torn, as another reviewer mentioned, between this one and another wine-name deep red, but choose this one because the color looked a little brighter and less muddy in the bottle. Glad I did! This color is beautiful moody and classy but not boring. The formula is glossy and smooth going on the nails and I personally prefer using a wider brush to apply, so I have no complaints with OPI's brush. One coat leaves my nails just shy of opaque. Two coats leaves my nails a beautiful shiny opaque deep red like the bottle. Three coats suddenly deepens the red a lot gorgeous and unique sort of like if red could be a greige color...this would be it. That doesn't make sense but what I mean is it's clearly a red, but also appears earthy and pseudo-neutral at 3 coats. Love it.
