Comparison of some sof tshades; 2 are iridescent.

Comparison of some sof tshades; 2 are iridescent. I have reviewed all of them on MUA:Full Size ImageFull Size ImageLovely, flattering, yet trendy AND conservative, iridescent soft shade. Perfect for anytime and occasion. Hard to not just stare at all the time. Gives the illusion of a tan in winter, too!It is a very, very light pink, with a natural base, lighter than Bubble Bath, and has this amazing blue-violet/lilac iridescent flash. Sooooooo awesome, and pretty in all lighting, especially at night. There is a very slight shimmer, too. It is so sophisticated and edgy all at the same time. Application is nice, too. I like 2 light coats, so there is a little visible nail line (VNL). Does not streak on me or get gloopy over time, either (like some soft shades can). On my second bottle, will purchase repeatedly. My go to pink. I also have Otherwise Engaged, which is a very light pink, but with a quiet pink iridescence....the net effect gives you a iridescent ballet pink. It is my version of Bubble Bath (which I have and think is too boring); and it's much more subtle then Alter Ego. Both are nice, but I prefer Alter Ego because it has a youthful flair, and that flash is so lovely and unexpected, and it's little more flattering, too.Beauty Brands keeps both in stock, if you want to check them out. If you are like me, and feel pinks are hard to wear with your skintone, Alter Ego may be the one for you.See OPI Altar Ego Bridal Edition Nail Polish reviews (notice the spelling differs), to read what others have to say. I accidentally misspelled the polish name when searching MUA (apparently both of us thought the same thing) and I created a new entry for the review. So this review will stay for the benefit of us who mis-type it as "Alter Ego".here Altar Ego link:http://www.here.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=27902/Altar-Ego-Bridal-Edition-Nail-Polish/OPI/Polishes

Eat'n Eggplant is from the New England collection released in1998.

Eat'n Eggplant is from the New England collection released in1998. I really don't get how the name relates to New England? Is there a connection with New England and Eggplant? Not sure. I am British, so maybe my American knowledge in this area is not so good.I have just won a bottle of this on Ebay. I bid because I understand that it was discontinued long ago and I love to have some rare "black labels" in my collection. Although this polish is not easy to find, I think it is still worth reviewing in case others find a bottle and wonder if it is worth buying.EnE is a dark brown with warm reddish purple tones.Although the bottle has some sparkle, these disappear once the polish has dried on the nails. It is not totally flat though it seems to give off a brownish red glow from the centre of the nails. Pretty and not so dark that it looks black.Colourwise it reminds me of OPI Holiday Glow without the silver sparkle. It applied very well, I needed two coats but the polish applied like it was new.I have scored this a 3 as to me it is pretty, but nothing wonderful (just a "nice" dark brown) but there is nothing not to like about it either. I would not buy again, but as it is long ago discontinued it is not a polish you will see for sale often.I have to say considering my bottle is likely to be about 10 years old the formula is amazing, Once again I am impressed by the quality of OPI!

Oyster Blue Lagoon is from OPI's 1997 spring/summer South Seas collection.

Oyster Blue Lagoon is from OPI's 1997 spring/summer South Seas collection. There are a lot of other grey/ish green and blue polish colors right now, so I feel like this color is more current than 1997 :) It's a light grayish blue color. Not my fave, but a fun change once in a while.

Okay, this is definitely the worst OPI polish I own.

Okay, this is definitely the worst OPI polish I own. :-( I purchased it from Ebay as it was a very rare "black label" OPI from my favorite Canadian collection. Very disappointed with this polish. Maybe this is due to the way in which this polish was stored or something, but applying this polish was almost a mission impossible. It was very streaky and sticky. Yuck. As for the color...it is a weird reddish shimmery magenta color and it only looks good in the bottle. Don´t use this color on your nails unless you want to look like you dropped out of the 80s. It really reminds me of something Joan Collins would wear in Dynasty, almost like a cheap drugstore polish. You don´t want to wear this in 2012. As for the staying powerawful, awful, awful! I did my nails in the morning and the polish started to chip the very same day. Would not repurchase, and obviously won´t have to because I don´t plan on painting my nails with this crap anytime soon.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour. It's a true, rich, blue-brown (slightly dark) red. It looks lovely on most skin tones, I'd imagine, but it makes my med-tan NC40 Indian skin hands look so so sexy. I will be sticking to OPI because of the quality-it can go without a basecoat and still lasts; it can go without a topcoat and still shines. It is on the pricier side but is totally worth it. Will take two coats to give a rich lovely look.
