I got mine at Deals for 1.50 US Dollars so I guess I'm lucky! I have only swatched this once so this review is based on my experiences from then. I dislike this polish. The color is beautiful! A nice nude even though it doesn't work well with my skin tone but that's not the reason why. This polish is very streaky and patchy. I used about 3 coats since 2 coats didn't quite level the polish out. With this polish, you need to make sure your nail is smooth before application because any sorts of bumps, ridges, etc. will be exposed. It also chiped very easily in the days that I wore it.In my opinion, save the money and invest in another nude, but hey, you might want to give it a try for yourself to see how it pans out.
Do You Take Lei Away is a beautiful pale nude creme from OPI's 2015 Hawaii collection. It's very similar to OPI's Don't Bossa Nova Me Around from the 2014 Brazil collection, although DBNMA has more pink undertones and DYTLA is more like a very light café au lait (think of a shot of espresso with lots and lots of milk). Application-wise, this was less than stellar. The first coat went on somewhat patchy and streaky, which is pretty common for pale opaque shades, but even though I tried to even it out with a second coat, it didn't self-level all that well and I can still see a bit of patchiness. For that reason, I wouldn't repurchase.
It's been three days since I got this polish and I can say that I really enjoy it so far. The first coat is opaque and the second coat gets rid of visible nail line. I've tried it on both my fingers and my toes and it's very nude on my neutral undertone skin. As someone who doesn't really like wearing bright colors on her fingernails and has short nail beds, I think I will probably use this color frequently.I would describe the shade as cream-colored, with a slightly brown undertone.
Do You Take Lei Away? is another crème polish from OPI Hawaii Collection 2015 spring/summer collection. This is a beautiful creme nude finish leaning more to a brown side undertone. I compare it with Don't Bossa Nova Me Around from OPI Brazil Collection 2014, Do You Take Lei Away? has a more brown undertone whereas Don't Bossa Nova Me Around leans more towards a pink undertone, although both of them a nude colour. The application of Do You Take Lei Away is so easy. It has a great opacity which covers the nail easily and the drying time is very quick. It still reminds me of a mushroom colour and I love nude as it is so elegant looking. Great on any colour skin tone and if you like nude colour, this is a must to keep.
Absolutely IN LOVE with this neutral color. It's so versatile and a must have for every girl's OPI collection. As a fair-medium skin tone Asian, I feel like this color would still look great on me during the summer when I become super tan. This is like the perfect taupe. Doesn't make my skin look too yellow or washed out. It's perfect for an office setting, but also great for a night out on the town. It'll compliment your entire wardrobe. Great transition color from winter to spring. Definitely a year round color.I feel like Take Lei Away is a step up from Samoan Sand. Samoan Sand is slightly too pink for me.
