Like everyone else, I received this in my Ipsy bag. The set consists of three shadows: a black matte, a chocolate brown, and a pale cappuccino shimmer. The black is great for lining the eye if you don't feel like dealing with eyeliner (I usually don't), and it lasts really well. The two browns are warmer in tone than I would like. I wish Ipsy would have gone with more neutral colors. They're wearable for me, but not fantastic. I wear them when I'm just running out to do errands or whatnot and want a bit of definition. I always wear eye primer, but I've found that the two brown shadows don't have great staying powernothing like I'd get from Urban Decay or Lorac. I do like the consistency of the shadowsthey are more buttery than most drugstore options. Overall, I wouldn't repurchase because the colors aren't quite right for me, but I would try a Nyx shadow palette in more flattering colors.
This was in my Ipsy Glam Bag subscription & I love it! I love NYX so much so of course I love it. It has a pale champagne shade (highlight); medium beige, & a dark brownish-black color (gr8 in the crease and/or as an eyeliner). These are my colors! The darkest color is matte, the mid tone is a shimmer/frost & the palest color is basically matte. I am into collecting matte shadows lately coz I've changed my look big time as realized frosty e/s isn't so great on "mature" skin (I'm 38), so I was pleased to see 2/3 are matte. It is hard to find e/s that aren't singles but trios or quads make it significantly harder exponentially ur chances of find all matte. Ipsy is a really good bag for $10 bucks u get a lot of interesting & unusual stuff. NYX is always high quality merchandise it's very rare I am not pleased w NYX. I will be getting a ton of use out of this trio! Made it all worth my ten bucks that month. :)
I was so happy to get this trio as it's basically the shades I wear every day. With primer, they went on smoothly and lasted all day. The lightest shade is the least pigmented, but still pretty. I also like the packaging and the applicator that has a small end. I use that side to apply the black as a liner, and to smudge it into the brown at the outer v. Perfect!
When I received this in my Ipsy bag, I was really excited. I was disappointed as soon as I opened it up, though. The colors are OK. A little boring and neutral, but I'm OK with that. The smell hit me right away, which smelled like cheap makeup. It is really strong. The shadows are not good. The black is the only one with decent pigmentation. The golden one has less, and the champagne shade has virtually none. I rubbed really hard, and barely any product came off. I would still normally have tried it, but the smell makes me want to gag, so I didn't want to put it on my skin.
This collaboration between NYX and ipsy was pretty cool. The eyeshadow trio has two shimmery eyeshadows and one dark matte one. The color scheme is really great (champagne, bronze, dark brown), and I love how it can be used on many different eye colors. The only thing is that without a primer, this does not last very long, but NYX is very affordable so I guess you can splurge on a primer. The ingredients list is not my favorite, and that is the main reasons I would not repurchase, but this definitely impressed me in my ipsy this month.
