Nioxin Scalp Treatment - System Kit 1

Used the shampoo and conditioner. It made my hair dry and kind of brittle. It fell out more and dried up my scalp. No new hair grew either.

I have been using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for years with good results, and my fine, thin hair has benefitted greatly. Now that I've hit menopause, I realized I had some more hair shedding than usual, so I thought adding Nioxin's Scalp Treatment to my arsenal would be a good idea.The smell was OK minty and kind of like the other products I was used to. The instructions for the Scalp Treatment state that it is to be left on the scalp. The next day (after suffering from a few episodes of hot flashes/sweating during the night, my scalp was extremely irritated and remained so after washing and I had a visible redding and itching if the scalp. I have been trying to treat the irritation with home remedies witch hazel on the really bad areas, but the itching and crawling feeling on my scalp is still there. I will give it a little while longer and then if it doesn't subside, see a dermatologist. I guess Nioxin's botanical ingredients are too strong for someone who has skin sensitivity, as I do there is no way it is safe to leave on your scalp!

I have been using Nioxin for 8+ years and I'm almost to the point where I'm scared if I don't use it what would happen. I don't however think its helping at all, since my hair loss is progressively getting worse. I hate the menthol tingle of this product and it doesn't leave my hair feeling all that good. I currently use #2, although I have also used #6. 6 left my scalp too oily and 2 makes my hair look rather crazy. I think the only thing this product has done for me is the placebo effect. I do however still use the Scalp Treatment, since that you actually leave on your scalp. The first two steps you rinse down the drain.

I am 17 years old. I had beautiful thick hair, unfortunately my hairdresser decided that my hair was too thick and decided to thin my hair out! Ever since my hair has not been thicker! I began using it, and considering the fact that my hair was shorter the hairfall was relatively little. Hair loss is kinda genetic in my case, so my mum went to a hair loss specialist and he says that when you begin to use hair loss products your hair begins to fall, but give it 6 months and your hair will recover. And like the doc said : My hair began falling badly, I cried so often, I thought I was going to be bald, but I continued using the product and my hair slowly began recovering.After 4 months of using Nioxin, my hair feels healthy and looks beautiful.I honestly feel that me cutting my hair and eating lots of fruits and vegetables as well as doing some exercises improved the condition of my hair.Because ultimately, you can't expect a product to work if you're not eating the right foods. Treat yourself inside before you can treat yourself outside. Also, try not straightening your hair for a while, it helps strengthen your hair and get exposed to the beautiful sun! It's got amazing nutrients for your hair! And lastly, have faith in your product, be positive that your product will work on you.Get your Minty Hair Wacking (lovely mint scent to your hair) and be positive, eat healthy, exercise and never lose hope and we will fight this hair loss /thin hair struggle together! With regards to allergies, I have really sensitive skin, but Nioxin only tingled my scalp and caused no allergic reactions. However we are all different, if you begin to see allergies, then unfortunately you have to stop, find other alternatives. It would help if you take the product to your doctor and find out what it is that's making your skin irritated. So you don't waste any more money on products that don't agree with your skin.I would recommend Nioxin to anyone that suffers from thinning hair and hair loss, it really improves your hair condition with your personal great efforts too!Good Luck Guys,

I bought this on a whim at TJ Maxx trying to find something to deal with the excessive shedding caused by my recent hair color disaster. I've always had fine, thin hair, but lately it is so damaged it almost looks like I have a small bald spot near my crown. Nioxin to the rescue! I noticed the crown looked fuller after only one use? Bizarre, but there you have it. I am noticing less shedding and my hair looks a bit fuller. It really seems to be an HG. So why only four lippies? There is one downside to this miracle product-the smell. Seriously, it smells like a wet dog. I will put up with it for the results, but I cringe every time I smell it.
