NYX Mineral Finishing Powder - Medium/Dark - #MFP02

I almost didn't buy this given the negative reviews here, but then thought that I'd try it anyway since it's not expensive. I'm glad I did. It really works for me (I use Light Beige on my NC42 skin) a very simple, clean, blurred finish (as promised) that lasts through the workday. Has not broken me out so far. At this price point I highly recommend it.

One of the worst powders I've tried... The problems began with the packaging: bulky and hard to open. When I got to loading the powder on a brush, it didn't want to pick it up. I tried with several brushes, and the result was the same: the powder was hard to pick up, and seemed chalky. It didn't want to apply evenly on the face either. After getting it on there, it began creasing almost right away. In only one hour, it looked like I had applied powdered clay instead of powder it gathered into little islands on my face, made my foundation crease, and actually somehow made my foundation disappear, as I clearly had a completely naked spot across my nose that never happens to my foundation when it's set with other powders. 3 hours after applying my makeup, it had melted so badly on my face that I decided to remove it and start anew. I realized I forgot to use my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray last time, so I did that the second time around. The result was actually no different maybe half an hour longer wear time. I do not recommend this as it is hard to use, and I've tried it with different moisturizers, primers, with and without setting spray, and with and without foundation under nothing worked well

This powder is not good. I was looking for a less expensive alternative to my beloved Lorac Porefection Powder and heard a couple good reviews so decided to give this a try. It's terrible. As a previous reviewer said, it settles into fine lines like crazy, would cake up around my nose, and honestly would seemingly add texture to my skin. This powder never really "became one" with my skin if that makes any sense, even with Setting spray. If just looked really weird on my face. I'll stick with my Lorac or MAC MSF (my other favorite).

I didn't like this. I have been using this powder for 2 months and ended up buying a diffrent high end powder. It does not have a lot in common with MAC msf as some stated in previous review, I used the msf powder in the past and the result was much better. Pro: it lasts long on my skin. Cons: it goes into fine lines, settles into my pores. Once applied, you can actually see and feel the powder on your skin. I have the impression it worsens every single foundation I used with this. Maybe it is ok for really oily skins but I do not recomend it to people with dry skin and also I would not recomend it to people with some acne or big pores since this powder higlights them instead of covering them. Also, I tried with different brushes but the result was the same.

So I've had this powder for a few months. I purchased it for $13.00CDN for 9.6g of product at my local Nyx store. I think this product performs amazingly on my combo oily skin.The colour range (with 15 colours!) is really nice. Usually I pick the darkest shade in any given line up, but this time the darkest shade was too dark! I wear 13 Sand. The powder is domed and has a soft texture. The powder has a nice luminous finish. I use it at the end of my routine to set my foundation and to give me a nice blurred, soft focus, glow. The powder is definitely on the sheer side, which is understandable as it's a finishing powder and not a powder foundation. I have not tried wearing this powder on it's own, I only wear it over a base product.Even though I have combo oily skin, I like my skin to have a glowing finish. What I love about this powder is the fact that it mattifies but it still maintains it's luminous finish. This powder does nothing in the way of oil control, but it still looks good even when my t-zone oil starts to break through; it still maintains that airbrushed glowy finish! My skin just looks so creamy and perfect! I love it, even though my nose is grease city.I would be wary of 13 Deep Golden and 14 Mahogany as they are really really orange. Deep Golden oxidized really badly on me! This powder delivers on all that it promises. It may not control oil, but it doesn't claim to. I'm surprised and glad it works for my skin type. I thought it would only work for people with dry to normal skin, but I think it would work for everyone.
