Description

OPI Gelcolor soak off gel polish (released on October of 2011) applies just like traditional nail polish, but gives your like a super shiny finish that lasts up to two weeks. You can just simply apply the gel like regular nail polish and cure it under a UV or LED lamp for the specified period of time.

Why choose OPI Gelcolor?

OPI Gelcolor is produced by the largest manufactur of nail products in the world. OPI's Gelcolor will last for 2 weeks and is made specifically to fight the normal wear and tear from daily activities. Their formula does not damage the natural nails and will help keep your nails strong and healthy.

How long does it take for OPI Gelcolor to cure?

The curing times for Gelcolor gel polish is highly dependent on the type of lamp that you are using. For LED Lamps, Gelcolor will take 20-30 seconds to cure. However, with a UV Lamp, it will take 2 - 3 minutes to cure. Check out the latest LED lamp for faster curing!

How do I use OPI Gelcolor polish?

The Gelcolor application process is very similar to the other soak off gel polishes... This is how you do it:

Preparation

Step 1. Prepare the nail by using an orangewood stick to push the cuticles back for a clean application of gel

Step 2. Shape your nails to your style with a natural nail filer (150 grit or higher)

Step 3. Prepare the natural nail by gently removing the shine using a buffer... lightly buff it to rough up the nail beds

Step 4. Remove the oils and dust on your nail by using nail cleanser

OPI Gelcolor Application

Step 5. (Roll the gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Base Coat onto your nail.

Step 6. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 10 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 1 minute. The top coat will remain tacky/sticky, but this is normal of any soak off gel polish.

Step 7. (Roll the Gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Color coat to your nail. Don't forget to cap the nail edges to create a seal. Make sure you remove any Gelcolor from the skin prior to curing.

Step 8. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 9. Apply a second coat of Gelcolor color to the nail.

Step 10. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 11. Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Top Coat onto your nail. The top coat creates a high shine while protecting the gel layers below it from damage. Don't froget to cap the nail edges to create a seal.

Step 12. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minute.

Step 13. Use a liberal amount of alcohol (99%) or gel cleanser with a lint free pad to remove the tacky/sticky residue from your nail.

I have this in a mini, I'd describe it as free range egg yolk yellow.

I have this in a mini, I'd describe it as free range egg yolk yellow. It's bright, it's summery but being yellow it isn't so loud that it's distracting so I've worn it to work and frankly I don't think my work colleagues give a damn about it. 3 coats are necessary to get a good coverage, but it's nice and squishy and bright. Definitely a happy yellow colour.

I find this nail polish thick but sheer.

I find this nail polish thick but sheer. You need a good base coat before using this. Painting your nails white first also helps the color polish. I bought this so I could paint my nails yellow for bone cancer awareness. It's better than Sally Hansens and nyxs yellow polish!

I really like this polish! I'm pretty pale with just a hint of a tan and the shade works for me.

I really like this polish! I'm pretty pale with just a hint of a tan and the shade works for me.After one coat a friend commented that I looked like I'd had my hands in mustard but by coat three the colour was more buttercup yellow and much more flattering....Three coats are a must. As other reviewers have said the consistency is watery which makes for a streaky application frustrating but then, I find that when the application is dodgy I take greater care and probably end up giving myself a better manicure. With a great base and top coat the staying power has been impressive (day three and not a hint of a chip) and I'm really happy. I'm not sure that I'd repurchase (I don't know how many yellow polishes I'll need in my life!) but for now I'm in love and enjoying the feeling of spring. I definitely recommend.

Ok so I've been looking for a good yellow nail polish at first I got China glaze solar power.

Ok so I've been looking for a good yellow nail polish at first I got China glaze solar power. It was good but it has some reflex in it not glitter but you know what i mean the sheen. I wanted a completely matte one so I bought zoya's pippa which totally disappoint me so today I got this one and tried it on. It's sooooo sheer it's like liquidy watery but you can work with it with a good base coat. Invest in a good base coat because it'll be so much better for your nail's health anyway. I use Deborah Lippmann ridge filler. 2 coats of that base coat and then 3 coats of opi's need sunglasses gives you great result. Since it's sheer you can apply many coats and it'll still dry fast. If you don't have a good base coat then you'll hate this nail polish because 5 coats will still not give you what u expect. Will i buy this again no. I want to try butter london's one and many other brands yellow. Do I hate it no. I like it. would i recommend it yes if you have good base coat. otherwise no no no no.

A streaky nail polish needing at least 3 coats which is pretty bad for OPI.

A streaky nail polish needing at least 3 coats which is pretty bad for OPI. Not a bad colour however i dislike it on my skin tone. I think it would look much better on a person with pale skin than tanned skin, but thats just me .
