Luscious Lilac

This soft lilac cream shade is perfection. The gel-like Infinite Shine formula applied like butter and gave full coverage in 2 coats but did tend to thicken up as I was polishing. Nevertheless, the final result was super shiny, plump-looking nails. There are no agitator balls in this I.S. line so I had to roll the bottle between my palms to try to get uniform consistency as I polished. I don't know if you should use thinner in Infinite Shine, it may not agree with the formula. But I am going to have to add just a couple of drops of the OPI thinner and see how that works out for next time.

It’s normal for some viscosity changes to happen with the Infinite Shine line since the formula is designed to be a hybrid system (not a traditional gel polish) and, as you noticed, it does not include mixing beads. Over time or during application, the polish can feel slightly thicker as solvents begin to evaporate when the bottle is open.

Rolling the bottle between your palms is the right first step to re-homogenize the formula, as shaking can introduce air bubbles. For consistency issues during application, make sure the bottle is tightly closed between coats and stored upright in a cool, dry place.

Regarding thinner: in general, a very small amount of professional nail lacquer thinner can sometimes be used for traditional polish systems, but with Infinite Shine it should be done cautiously since over-thinning may affect wear performance and shine. If you choose to try it, start with just 1–2 drops and mix thoroughly before testing.
