This spray makes my hair look exactly what it looks like after I've splashed around in the ocean and then laid out in the sun ie. my hair looks like it's half dry, half wet, sexy volume, just the right amount of tousle --perfect messy beachy texture. Once fully dried, it gives my hair that look like I tried without really trying defined texture with natural wave and volume. I should mention that I have incredibly straight, coarse, thick Asian hair and this product succeeds in giving me a bit of natural looking wave and a good amount of volume without my having to curl my hair prior to using the product. I use it per the directions (spraying directly on dry hair and scrunching as I spray). It's not cheap, but most sea salt sprays cost around $16-$20 (Oribe/Kerastase definitely being the exceptions), so I find the price to be average/comparable to other sprays out on the market. My only complaint is the scent --it has the trademark Wella scent, but with a slight muskiness and alcohol-like smell. I usually like the scent of Wella products but this one bugged me a bit. The muskiness/alcohol scent eventually dissipates but if strong scents bother you, you may want to skip on this product. Despite the fragrance, this product works fantastically in achieving that beachy texture.
This gives me the texture I've been trying to achieve.
This gives me the texture I've been trying to achieve. The directions say to spray it on dry hair and scrunch it, which I'm sure would be cute and beachy-looking, but I mist it on my roots after I dry my hair, then blow dry the mist, and it gives my fine medium-length hair texture and volume. I can really tell a difference in volume when I use Velcro rollers, and it's so much easier to fix when I wear my hear up because of the texture.I'm not real crazy about the smell, but I don't smell it all day or anything. It's kind of expensive (I think it was $16 at Ulta), but I don't have to use much to get results so I'm sure it will last a while. I took a lippie off because of the smell and price, but it's worth it and I will repurchase.
