Excellent black polish, plus it's a little different too. From OPI's 2016 Holiday Collection (Breakfast at Tiffany's), Black Dress not Optional is a black creme with a subtle silver microshimmer that lightens it up just a bit. So it's not inky-jet-black, but it's not grey either. And it dries to a finish that is satin-y, yet not dull either. I am so glad I picked this up, I don't have anything else that looks like it.Great OPI formula as well. Opaque in two coats and no problems with application or wear. I would absolutely buy this one again. I love it. Highly recommended!!

Love this color. It is the perfect vampy color, aside from Chanel Vamp. It has been discontinued for quite some time and my only bottle has ran out, Vampsterdam was close but not exact. I sure hope that OPI re-releases some time in the near future, I will definitely buy a couple of extra bottles to hoard.

Black Tie Optional, no wonder lots of viewers love this color. It's so vampy (if you like vampy color) without looking goth. Under dim lights, it's very dark, almost black. But this color is no where near black at tall. It's a blacken plum/brown with micro glitter. When I applied the 1st coat, it's watery and sheer and it's black like ink. But 2 coats just perfect and the coverage is amazing. The drying power is excellent too. It dries so quickly. I think this color will look good on almost any skin tone as this color is so in between warm/cool tone. The color doesn't chip easily neither. The wearing is so good that I just love looking at them all day long. I reckon with a red top or dress, this color will definitely stands out. I give it a 5 because generally speaking, color, application, drying power, coverage is excellent. But not the price. It's quite expensive if you want to get this color nowadays.

This is one of my favorite colors! I bought it when it first came out a few years ago, and it's since been discontinued. I really, really wish i would have bought more of it, because trying to find it now, for a decent price is ridiculous!

I LOVE this polish to the point where I've already repurchased it! For me though, this polish really shines better layered than on it's own. 2 coats of just this looks more dirty blackish .. however layered on top of a cream wine (I prefer Orly Plum) it pulls more of the plum shimmer out and lessens the harshness of how it looks on it's own. This isn't quite as opaque as many of my others, which is another reason why I love this for layering. Top quality and incredibly unique. Love it!
