"Liv" In The Gray is a gorgeous dark gray/green creme polish that was released for fall 2016 in the Washington DC collection. This shade is a limited edition polish that I purchased online. I wasn't quite ready for such deep dark shades until now in November, so this sat untried for several weeks. I have had this one on now for 4 days and I am sooo loving it! This is one of those polishes that is not really one color or another and it's hard to sort when I categorize my polish by color, is it gray or is it green? It's both and it's beautiful. I have had a few compliments on it and then some have asked the name of it so they can buy it too. That's the sign of a great polish when someone not only compliments the color, but asks specifically what it is. The formula on this is dreamy. Rich color drenched formula that glides right on so smoothly and you can feel what a great formula it is with the application. This is almost a one coater. I could have gotten by with one coat, but the second adds depth and a rich tone. The brush on this is standard OPI flat straight edge brush that is flexible and fans out beautifully for a smooth even application. As always, I used a protein enriched basecoat (Nailtiques 2 plus), 2 coats of this color, and a fast drying top coat of Seche Vite. This is such a great fall and winter color and I love the dual color of this mystery shade. This appears dark gray in the bottle, but dark green on my nails. I love it! The wear is typical of a dark polish in that it shows tip wear easily and although it was still perfect at the end of day one, by the end of the second day, I was already seeing slight wear showing. I don't think it was visible to others, but I am super critical and was looking for it so it seemed very visible to my eyes. Even on day four, I was still getting compliments on it and inquiries as to the name of it so it couldn't have looked as ragged as I thought. I only got one little chip on this and that was at the end of day five and we were hanging Christmas decorations and doing a lot of digging through boxes and the storage closet. Overall, this is an intriguing fall polish color and I am loving this one so much that I want to repaint them this same shade with my next mani. I love green polish and gray polish and this is the perfect mix of the two.

I'm usually not big on shimmery polish, but this one is just gorgeous.

I'm usually not big on shimmery polish, but this one is just gorgeous. The shimmer is really fine, making it light reflecting and super shiny rather than looking glittery. I think shimmer in polishes can make them a bit cheap-looking, but this shade just looks fabulous. I've gotten so many compliments for it, especially when I wore it around the holidays. It's the perfect bright red christmas shade, really. It's the one red shade in my collection that I don't have a dupe for. The one lippie off is for OPI being quite pricy, and while the formula is consistently good, I feel like you pay for the brand name just as much as you do for the quality. For that reason every OPI polish I own I've bought on sale.

This is a beautiful colour, orangey red with lots of shimmer.

This is a beautiful colour, orangey red with lots of shimmer. It's a brilliant choice for Christmas, but very wearable in any season. I recon it would suit most skin tones, as even though it's bright it is not OTT. Wearing time is fantastic, as is the case with all of the OPIs I owe. If I ever run out I would definitely buy again.

Gorgeous vintage polish.

Gorgeous vintage polish. Catherine The Grape was released several years back and was limited edition but it is still readily available on line for purchase. However, the price is inflated, so I ended up paying $18 for my bottle including shipping. This is a beautiful dusty plum polish and has a very vintage nostalgic feel and look to it. The shade is very flattering to my fair skin and this is a warm color. I have had this on for a week now and it has worn wonderfully without chipping, fading, and minimal tip wear. This has a special sleeve on the cap stating that this has a new pro wide brush, and while it is not as big as the professional style brushes in the Wet n' Wild Megalast line, it didn't look any different from the brush in the new OPI polishes I have that are current. I was able to get my pinkies painted in only 1 stroke and most others in only 2. The formula on this was a little thin at first and the first coat goes on much more sheer than I was expecting but the second coat was all it needed for full opacity and a beautiful rich color. In the bottle this looks very dusty and plum with gold. On the nail it dries a bit darker and a burgandy color and while the gold is still present it's not as apparent. I have had this on almost a week now and I am so in love with this polish. I've had compliments on the beautiful color. I don't regret paying nearly $20 for this now and it was a Christmas gift anyway so why not splurge? I am going to get many wonderful manicures from this one bottle. Love.

I admit that I bought this because of the name.

I admit that I bought this because of the name. In the bottle the color looked far too orange for me not that I mind orange, but the color only look good on my hands when I have a tan which I rarely do so the oranges I already had in my collection looked as they were going to last several years from now. Well, having bought the color, I gave it a try on my winter white hands and I was rather surprised by the great result. DAD is indeed an orange based red, but it's a burnt, brownish orange that gives enough contrast to look good on pale skin. Not that it's discreet or what I would normally call "wearable" it's loud, flashy and glamorously frivolous but that's a part of the fun. Perhaps the surface is more of a metal than a shimmer at least it's very, very shiny with a golden reflection in the light. Application was easy, and there weren't any visible brushstrokes. This might be an acquired taste, and I won't have much opportunity to wear it, but I have never had anything quite like it, and I'm very happy I got it.
